"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

We had a blast at MNSSHP tonight! We did everything on our wish list except we didn't get to see the headless horseman because of the rain and I didn't get my picture with Mickey. We had gotten pictures with Jack & Sally and the Dwarves at our last MNSSHP party a couple of years ago so they weren't really a priority for us. We focused on pictures with characters we hadn't met before, seeing the stage show, the parade and Hallowishes. We had so much fun, left with full bags of candy and sore feet, but we would definitely do it again. Here is our timeline for our day.

HELP!! I really hope someone here can help me b/c I'm not sure what happened but I was able to book FP for a party night (4-7pm) but I only have 4 day theme park tickets, the party will be on day 4 of our trip and leaving one day after the party for our tickets- so 5 days total, 4 reg admission, 1 party only day, I wasn't sure this was possible but it allowed me to book so I did, now what I'm thinking is... will this take over my next day FP's or what?? Sorry if this was confusing but to be honest- I'm very confused myself and I thought I had the hang of this until now! In years past we had hoppers to cover our trip so wasn't an issue
Thanks so much, love
Grace

Nope you will be fine! They are in your party ticket. We too do fp on our party tic and then used normal tics for a couple of days after.

If you don't already have fast passes in a park for that day you are able to use 3 fast pass choices between 4-6:30 on a party night.

Last nights party was much better than last weekend (sorry to anyone who went about the rain. I've decided it's my fault. And to anyone going Sunday, sorry again. It looks like it'll be 4/4 nights of rain)

I didn't keep track of times like before, but a general list of what I did

Characters:
  • Cruella
  • Old Hag
  • Alice/Hatter
  • Queen of Hearts
  • Capt Jack Sparrow
  • Gaston
  • Tiana
Entertainment:
  • ToT (not as much as nights before simply because I don't need more candy)
  • Hallowishes from the side of the castle (after meeting Queen of Hearts, then was able to make a quick getaway to other characters)
  • Boo To You x2.5 (the first parade was severely delayed and Frontierland was empty 15 minutes before it started. So front row. Then got a front row in Liberty Square about 20 minutes before #2 was scheduled to start [it was delayed by a bit] and since the parade is very slow moving, I was able to get to Town Square and watch most of it again, front row)
  • Little Mermaid ride to escape the rain
It started raining just as I was getting to Alice and the Hatter which threw off my plans a bit. I had to push back the Queen of Hearts and I ended up going on a ride (which unless I am using it for shelter is a waste of money since I can ride for free whenever I want). Gaston and Tiana were last minute additions. Gaston moved inside but had 0 line, something I've never seen before. Tiana had maybe a 5 minute wait. I was planning on cycling Genie/Jasmine and Aladdin/Abu, but Abu wasn't out last night so I decided to save that line for Sunday

Goals for Sunday:
Get the rest of the characters: Abu, Genie, Pooh Gang, Mickey
Watch Hallowishes from the Hub again
Watch the Hocus Pocus Show (it was shortened the first time I tried)
Watch Boo To You

The characters and the parade are my most important items, so hopefully the rain doesn't mess with too much

What time can you get the Sorcerers of MK Halloween Card? Does anyone know if both of my kids can get one for their collection books or is it per family? TY

I went on 9/27 and had mixed feelings about the party. DH lost his magic band as he took off his backpack to have it searched. Someone must've been real quick to take it, because it was gone when we turned around. Thankfully the CMs were able to give us a card for his ticket and I showed the CMs the fast pass confirmations on my phone to let us on the FP line. Since it was raining, for the first part of the party, we went on rides (PP, Winnie, IASW, Little mermaid) and saw Cinderella, Rapunzel, Elsa and Anna. For the second part of the party, we went to see the parades and fireworks. The first hocus pocus show was cancelled and we didn't get to see the headless horseman.

We didn't get a lot of the special magic shots because it was pouring rain and the photographers were not out. We went ToT at 10:30-11, the lines were pretty long but it moved very quickly. We got 3 pieces of candy from each CM, so by the time we went on all of the lines, we had roughly 20 pieces. The kids were pretty disappointed.

I've never been to a MNSSH party so I can't comment on how crowded it was compared to other parties, but when we went to MK this past Thursday, it was LESS busy than during MNSSH. Other than 7DMT (which we had a FP for), everything was basically a walk-on timing for us. I'm not sure I would end up going to the party again.

FPs aren't connected to a particular ticket. Gracie0423 will be fine because she has 5 days' worth of tickets and 5 days worth of FPs.

Does Boo to You follow the same path as the afternoon parade? Does it start in Frontierland or Main Street?

I do not have a day ticket for my party day (3 day ticket + 1 party ticket = 4 day trip). I was able to make FP for my 3 park days and my party day (I will not be going into the park until 4 so my FP run 3:30-6:30) No problem at all.

4PM. One per person. They will mark each band with an S to note that you have received your cards

Does Boo to You follow the same path as the afternoon parade? Does it start in Frontierland or Main Street?

Same as FoF - Frontierland to Main Street both times

Can anyone who has gone tell me if I will get to meet Elsa and Anna? A Disney CM told me on the phone that I would have no problem meeting Elsa at the Halloween Party. Is that true? The Halloween party is the last day for us- I don't want to leave meeting Elsa till the end if she isn't there. I haven't read anything about her being there. Elsa is a big deal to my little girl! TIA

This was discussed just a few posts above. Anna & Elsa meet during the party and their waits drop to under 20 minutes after 9 pm. Prior to 9 pm they're closer to 30-40 minutes.

We were at the party last night and had a great time!

Just me and my college-age daughter, and over the years we've gotten all the character photos we're interested in and aren't interested in candy, so that's very different from most people's party intentions, so this may or may not be helpful.

Parked and at the gates at 3:30. The turnstiles on the right side were lined up with party-goers, the first lines on the left (of the right turnstiles) were for paper tickets, the rest for magic bands or carded tickets. We were through the turnstiles, got our wristbands, and on Main Street at 3:50.

We'd made FP+ as close as possible and I'd written off our first one 3:05-4:05 thinking we wouldn't make it, but we did! (Big Thunder).

We then rode Pirates and crossed back over to our 2nd FP at Space at 5:00 (4:05-5:05) and then back through Fasntasyland (7DMT was closed/down for unknown amount of time) and over Haunted Mansion for the third at 5:30 (5:05-6:05). Once we'd knocked out our FP+ ride times, we stopped in at the Frontierland Post for the party pin.

We wandered back up Main Street taking photos and then popped in to get out Sorcerer's card. (They mark your party band with an S at that point so you don't get duplicates.)

We stopped for a snack and to people watch, wandered, came across the dance party starting up with the Monsters at the stage near Space Mountain.

Back around through Fantasyland, checked 7DMT, standby at 40 minutes, so decided to wait that out. Hopped on walk-on Pooh instead and back to Haunted Mansion to watch some of the performance and get our special photopass with the ghost driving the horseless carriage. That line is on the right of the FP line area at HM.

Our plan was to be in the back corner before the first parade started to ride Splash. Walk-on with our own log.

As we came out, we came across the three hitchhiking ghosts set up and got in what we thought was the line behind the photographer while she worked with the group. Another group of about 12 people came up behind us at which point she turned and said "guys, my line is over here" -- basically the other side of the round planter from where we were. So the big group flips around and now we're behind them. And it starts to rain. Great. Thinking we'd just missed our shot, as she said to the big group in front of us, "we have to do this quick, I can't shoot in the rain." But they were actually two families together who needed two sets and one of the guys put an umbrella up over her. So we pulled ours out and sort of passed it around while she finished up them and us before it really got going. She moved her gear off under the covered porch area and we went with her to pull out our ponchos. After we'd suited up, she was standing there with a man who I assumed was her manager and I decided to ask if she knew where we could get the poison apple special shot. She didn't know, but he did and said, "You can do that." He pulled out a guide and helped her get the settings and we took it under the porch while the rain was pouring. We're in ponchos and my daughter joked it would be ala Breaking Bad with meth hazmat suits for the poison.

After that we tromped off into the rain, trying to get through the bottlenecks of people who were trying to take cover. It had started up just before the first parade should have gotten going, and there were still some in Frontierland trying to hold their spots, but most were all under the covered porches. We tried getting into Columbia House, but they were just closing (?) with the woman at the front doors trying to keep anyone else from entering.

So we went over to Pinocchio's Village House and grabbed a bite. Still raining when we came back out, so we headed for Main Street. Everyone had abandoned their parade posts by that point, no one on the curbs at all, but the rain was clearly letting up, and our feet were tired, so we staked out a place and, sure enough, about 10 minutes later we heard the announcement that the parade would be starting in 10 minutes! The first parade got to Main Street at 9:50.

After the parade we went to the hump in the middle of Main Street and stood. Sure enough, announcement that Wishes would be starting soon. So everything had been delayed but nothing cancelled. Not really crowded at all. After the fireworks, we moved forward to the other side of the Partners statue with the slightly raised vantage point of the Castle stage. At this point, it seems like all the folks who hadn't bailed for the rain had clued in that things were going again on Main Street, so this was the most crowded it had been around us all night.

Still enjoyed the show and then cut back to Fantasyland after it was over, at around 11:15 7DMT was a walk-on!

We walked-on to Peter Pan after that!

Since this was a single one-day trip for us, getting to ride all our favorites rides with no waits, as well as the parade, fireworks, and show in one evening was exactly what we wanted, even with the hour of rain issues.

As we were leaving Fantasyland we realized the second parade was coming across the bridge from Liberty Square, at midnight! I was surprised they ran it a second time so late. The last castle show geared up after that. We sat outside and ate our sundaes (got the Poison Apple cup -- it's HUGE! Be sure to share) and watched the show from afar. Got the animated photopass shot done on a pretty quiet Main Street while the show was finishing up and got the the monorail in the sweet spot between all the folks who left after the parade but ahead of the final show crowd. No wait for the monorail or the tram at the TTC. We'd gotten there early enough that we were parked in the Heroes lot while it appeared the later party drivers were directed into Villains. The Heroes tram area was sparsely populated compared to the wait for the Villains tram.

(We checked out our Photopass pictures before heading for bed and it looks like I need to send in a note to get the poison apple stuff added. Right now, we're still standing there holding and reacting to air. Not sure if they can do it, but worth an ask.) All the other shots, including the animated one, were there.

Don't know if that helps anyone planning for upcoming parties, since our interests didn't include any of the special character meets or Trick or Treats line.

Great time!

can someone please let me know what halloween costumes mickey, minnie, donald, daisy and the pooh gang are in? im wondering if different than in the past years where mickey and minnie were in purple outfits, daisy in a blue dress and donald in pumpkin? thanks!

im worried about the 27th merchandise holding up
i want the party magic band and decided not to chance it and purchased one and will link it up to my account when it arrives

also glad we just went ahead a bought our tickets early as they are already selling out so early in the season
Same here! Oct 27th is a long time for things to sell out.

Quick question; first timers going to MNSSHP.
We have tickets for the party on the 31st regarding costumes - do you have to wait until 7pm to change into them? Or if you go between 4 and 7 with the party ticket will they stop you from going in if you're already in costume??

This is our first mnsshp as well and we are going 10/29 and 11/1. We have a 2 & 4 yr old plus 3 adults. Will it be ok to have one person wait in line for the dwarves while the others take the kids ToT, potty, to get snacks, etc? There's no way they'll be able to sit still in line for 2+ hours so I'm hoping we'd be allowed to do this.

Saw people with them at MK, who said they found them at 1 popcorn/soda stand near Tomorrowland entrance.

Picked 1 up today at popcorn/soda stand at HS, to the right of the "hub" & left of The Brown Derby.

We and many many others were in costume on the bus to MK at 3 and let in to the party a few mins before 4 with no problem.
