Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

Is there anything else at the Expo I should think about, merch-wise? No Dooneys for me, unless I buy that wallet - but I can do that at the park, and no NB shoes ...

If your going to Coast to Coast maybe a tshirt for that or if there's other merchandise. I really want a Coast to Coast tshirt so hope they have them. Otherwise they usually have lots of RunDisney stuff so I might get a mug as I passed on them in January.

Great point about C2C ... DLH is my first leg of the C2C, so I'd love if they did something race specific for that.

I was hoping to be sneaky in January and get C2C stuff then, and all they had were the generic blue C2C shirts. That was disappointing.

I'm planning on picking up a C2C shirt and a DL Half hoodie, if they have one. That's all I have on my wish list right now, but that may change when they release the merch preview. ;)

I can't remember which thread I saw it on (I've been out-of-pocket almost all weekend, so I've been doing a whole heck of a lot of catching up!) - but I just bought my first order through RawThreads! I'd been wanting one of the Good Girl "Bow" Racer tanks and couldn't decide. They have a Mystery Pack of three tanks for $60! I'm happy someone else is making the decision for me!

I have what might be a dumb question about the anniversary party on Thursday night.

I assumed this was an after hours party like MNSSHP or MVMCP at WDW, and that my party ticket was all I needed to get into the park that night. Now I'm noticing an asterisk on the website that seems to indicate I also need a theme park ticket also (like for the pasta in the park party). But, it's not totally clear to me based on how it appears on the website. Unfortunately there are multiple single asterisks that seem to reference different footnotes/disclaimers. I can't tell if the asterisk by the anniversary party info is referencing the requirement for park admission, or the notice that they can limit the capacity of the events at any time at their discretion.

I've emailed rD to clarify, but has anyone else checked on this? I purchased the tickets so quickly I don't remember seeing anything that said I also needed a park ticket to get to the party.

Really hoping $99 is all I have to pay (assuming that no food is provided). Kind of planned on the party as being a substitute for buying another day's park admission. :(

I got mine as part of a package from a travel agent. What I was told was that the ticket guarantees entry at 4 p.m., but the "private party" is only from 9 p.m. until midnight on the west side of Disneyland (New Orleans Square, Frontierland, Critter Country, Adventureland). All rides in that area will be open and there will be a special showing of "Paint the Night" just for party attendees. There will also be characters and stuff.

Yeah like Keels said, the ticket will get you into the park after 4:00. Don't need to buy a regular park ticket. You had me thinking though - I had to double check. I'm just hoping it's not crazy crowded since the things that are open are on that one side of the park. But I'm excited to the see Pain the Night so it will be all good,.

Awesome, thanks for confirming! I was freaking out for a minute.

Ugh. All this merch talk! I need to start playing the lotto or something!

I think I'm going to skip on the pre-order jacket - the gals from Tink say it's basically the same as the Marathon weekend jacket (glittery shoes on the back) in pink and grey. The jacket that was apparently at the Expo was much cuter.

I'm also going back-and-forth on the "I Did It!" shirts. I was originally on that bandwagon when I first registered, as it was going to be my first half marathon. But now? IDK. I'm thinking the shirts we get with registration and my medal will be enough of an "I Did It" portion for me. I'm already getting the pin, so there's no question there.

TBH we were pretty disappointed with the merch offerings last year. But then we were doing the 10k. Most of the stuff was for DDD participants. There was also quite a variety of half merch, and also quite a bit for C2C. Or else just generic RunDisney stuff. Not much in the way of 10k or Half Marathon Weekend stuff, so we couldn't really buy much anyway. We did pre-order the pins, which we loved! So we've done that again this year. I'm actually pretty easily pleased, and don't feel like I really need anything apart from the race top, medal and pin. Having said that, I'll be tempted to buy a jacket this year (at the expo, not the pre-order one). Not a fan of the RunDisney shoes this year - I was tossing up on last year's ones and now regretting not buying them.

For us the expo is more of a chance to buy things we don't have easy access to in Australia - sparkle skirts, energy chews and head bands are all on the list! (Yes, we have head bands in Australia, but only about 1% of the most boring ones you have in the US lol!). If the AUD$ doesn't drop too much, I'd also like to check out the Raw Threads booth.

All in all, I think I'd rather spend my money in the parks, especially with all the 60th anniversary merch that will be around!

Not as exciting as purses and wallets, but expos are a great place to stock up on running gear, fuel, etc. Many of the vendors have discounts and sales on basic stuff, so I usually grab a box or two of fuel and a few pairs of shoes.

The cotton shirt is OK. I was disappointed when I saw them at Tink , but I thought about it and decided better to get one rather than question myself later. It is okay to wear with jeans or something. Last year at Tink they were Tech shirts and they sold out right away. Lots of people came up to us on Sunday after the run asking us where we got the shirts. The cotton shirts were not so popular this year. But with jeans it will be OK. The "I Did It" kind of a nice keepsake.
I'm on the fence about the pre order jacket but the girls from Tink said it was easy to take back. So maybe I will order one just to see. Hope it is not the gray jacket. I got a nice teal jacket in the official merchandise.
My flight didnt get in till 2 pm on Thursday at Orange Co. It took us about a hour to get to expo things were sold out already. What a drag! The thing I really wanted was a wine glass not luck checked back every day hope they may put some more stock out. Not willing to pay the price on ebay! Wish Disney would make these a pre order item.
We are on the same flight in September arriving on Thursday hope I am luckier this trip with my shopping. You are right need to win a lotto or something!

I like the I Did It shirts, just because they have the course maps on the back. If they didn't have that I wouldn't buy them. I decided not to get the I Did It shirt for the first runDisney race I ever did (didn't see the back of the shirt, otherwise I would have) and I still regret it...and that was back in 2011!

I'm glad I didn't have to pay for my flights, because between the race merch and the 60th merch, I can use the extra cash. :teeth:

Just called GetSports...for those who don't have park tickets and want to do the Anniversary Party as well, the spectator package is a great deal. For a 2-day park hopper and Anniversary party, it's $269. You save on the active.com fees for the Anniversary party. You can add additional days to the park ticket for $25/day. Think this is the route we are going to take. Just gotta figure out how many days of park tickets we need, I'm thinking 3- Fri, Sat, Sun.

I have just read through all 74 pages, wow! I signed up for DDD shortly after completing the dopey challenge this year so I am looking forward to the C2C medal.
@Keels, I will hopefully run into you race weekend as I also decided to do the dopey again for next year. I did not think I would ever do this again but then I read @Ariel484 trip report and realized how much fun the event was. I will not be arriving until Friday afternoon so I hope there will be some merch. left. would really like to get an I did it if they are in cotton. Is it just me or should they sell these after the 1/2 on Sunday? I have a thing about buying completion shirts before actually completing the event. Look forward to chatting and seeing some of you over the weekend!

Not too sure how to post photos here. (Still a newbie) but If anyone is into Alex and Ani bracelets, they are releasing 2 DL 60th anniversary styles.
