The 10K is Villains-themed, right?
SoOOoo.... anyone know how difficult it is to carry a Boba Fett blaster for 6.2 miles?
...... Eeeaaaasy, right?

Just FYI, here is a quote from the Official Event Guide regarding costumes:

"Costumes may not contain any weapons which resemble or could be easily mistaken for an actual weapon"

I'll let you figure out where a blaster fits on that scale.

I can't imagine it being any worse than what this guy did last year (got it off google since I can't find my own photo of him):

Your arms might get tired though (speaking from experience of carrying anything for an extended periods, hell walking sticks during an ultra get exhausting to use after a while).

But as SgtTibbs mentioned it being what it is might be an issue within itself.

Also with a quiz and an exam in the next two days I'm trying to avoid Disneyitis, and having issues.

Thanks for the warning. I figure I'm safe since it's obviously a toy blaster with bright orange accents. It's the same one they sell at Disney parks. I may bring along the bag check bag, just in case. At worst, I can always check it; at best, the bag gives me (or more likely, my wife) a clean place to sit on the ground.

Carry a light saber...not as clumsy or random as a blaster. A more elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

(I know Boba Fett didn't carry a light saber....I just wanted to rattle off that quote!)

Humm... The expected high for Sunday keep creeping up every time I look. It's up to 87f now. Time to stop looking.

Saturday on the other hand looks perfect.

Luke, here is your fathers light saber. He would have wanted you to have it. He used it to murder 30 children in the Jedi Temple.

Kid, I've run marathons from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful Mouse controlling everything.

Disney World is my home away from home, and this will be my first Disneyland trip in 10 years.

Our main reason for going is the Dumbo Double Dare, of course, but we want to experience some park time.

Our training has gone well, but we plan to take the races VERY EASY, evening out our run/walk intervals in order to retain energy for park touring.

Some high priorities for me:
  • Matterhorn (my wife has never ridden it)
  • Subs (I last experienced these in 1998)
  • World of Color
  • Pirates (I love the original)
  • All of Cars Land
  • Mr. Toad, Mr. Toad, and Mr. Toad
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Indiana Jones
What else can't I miss? Is there anything in the 60th anniversary celebration that must be experienced?

Also, during WDW Marathon Weekend, the weekend ends with a party at Downtown Disney Springs. Is there anything like that here?

Thanks!

Doug

Ummm Paint the Night Parade and the Fireworks Show

Ummm Paint the Night Parade and the Fireworks Show

If you have only seen Fantasmic at WDW, I would add it to my list if you have time, but like Warm Hugs suggests, Paint the night and the fireworks should be a priority. Oh, and the re-furbished Peter Pan unless they made the same updates in WDW. Ditto Alice. Tower of terror you can skip (yours is better). Avoid Pooh.

I like Space and Big Thunder better than at WDW. California Screamin' is pretty awesome as well.

Pinocchio's Journey Ride & Small World since it has added characters that WDW doesn't are on our list too. Oh and Monster Inc. at DCA is neat I think. We are thinking of making a priority list too as it's been 8 yrs since we went last to DL.

So the husband wanted to walk a 5k today to practice- he decided that we should park at Epcot, walk to studios, lap that then back- yeah should've listened better cause almost 10 miles later we were done.. Explains why my feet got tired cause I wore flip flops alas on to Disneyland :)
