Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

I was refreshing all 3 sites (DL, WDW and DVC) for a half hour prior (a little anxious I guess) and nothing came up until about 9:10am PST or so. All I can think of is that they just released a few spots for DDD now and maybe holding back the bulk of spots for the general sale date.

I decided that I just couldn't put myself though all this stress again on the 10th so decided to go just for the 1/2 this time around and have the sure thing. This will actually be my first 1/2 marathon and my first race at DL so still really excited! Just figured if I was going to go for it go BIG!

Also excited to participate in the 10 year anniversary! Hopefully the bling will be really cool this year! :thumbsup2

I'll see how this year goes and who knows, maybe next year I'll get to do the DDD.

I think that is exactly what they do. Congrats on signing up for your first half! :)

I made it in for the Dumbo! And immediately went out for a two mile walk to calm down and officially start training! Dumbo here I come!

YAY!! Congrats!!

I'm seriously debating purchasing through either GET or Acclaim before general registration, but I don't want the Special Event party ticket (I'm going to the Rangers-Angels game that night).

Is it worth it just to guarantee me a spot? Or do y'all think the half will last quick enough for me to get registered?

It took the half a lot longer to sell out than the DDD today, so I'd think that as long as you are online when registration re-opens you would be good to get the half.

And hey, I just noticed, you are from Ft. Worth! My daughter is currently at TCU. Go Frogs!

From the page I am looking at, the half is the only race that is still open, except for the 400m kids race. If you're ready at noon on February 10 hopefully you'll be good. :)

NO WAY! Small World! We live about five minutes from TCU - such a beautiful campus!

OK, then maybe I'll just take my chances on open registration day. I guess the tour provider can be my fallback plan if I don't get in on open registration day, right?

OK, that makes me feel much better about my chances!

Yep, apparently the half marathon is still open. Not sure why I bothered to get up at 3:30am and stress for an hour :lmao:

Well, it was worth it. Thought the half might sell out quicker this year being an anniversary year.

But that's great news for those who are planning to register with general entry. Hopefully it won't be too stressful :thumbsup2

I'm going to try again at general registration...(another 2 weeks wait !!), and if I don't get DDD, i'm going to do Avengers for my c2c.

Avenger is really my first choice, November works better for scheduling and I was told that Christmas decorations would be up. I got steered to the DDD cuz that adorable DDD medal. LOL

congrats to those that got registered for the runs they were seeking.

Quick look at the GET site and the DDD is sold out there as well.

What's the moral of today's story, kids? It's that Keels has little-to-no patience!

I went ahead and registered through GET. So, yay! I'm in for the Half!

:rotfl2:

I struggled last year when I didn't have early access. It's so hard when you can't share in the excitement yet!

Congrats!

It was a treat from my parents! They actually came to New Orleans to cheer us on, so they'll be making the trip to Anaheim as well.

Now, I just have to wait to get the husband in the half on open registration day. Better him having to wait than me! :rotfl2:

Congrats! I'll see you on the course!

In case you missed it, here is my post from last year with some hints/tips about the Disneyland Half.

2014 Disneyland Half.

Awesome!! Thanks!

I think the only thing I have left to do is lock-in my plane ticket. Maybe book PPH if I ultimately decide to do a split stay.

Thinking of coming in Wednesday night now, so I'll have two "nights" in the parks. Husband will come over from Santa Monica (where he'll be working) in time for the baseball game Friday night to stay with me.

That's great! My parents are coming with us too, they'll be running along with us though :thumbsup2

I would recommend getting there on the Wednesday if you can swing it. I got there on Tuesday last year, and the crowds were pretty good Tuesday, Wednesday and even into Thursday. We noticed a HUGE increase in numbers Thursday afternoon/evening and Friday.
