Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

Good luck and have fun! I have only done the half-marathon and kids races at Princess so TinkerBell (and DisneyLAND) is all new! Can't wait! Not to be greedy, but I hope we get the program soon with all the Expo deets :)

Jodi

Welcome Disneyland Resort first timers!!! :)

For all of you who have run Walt Disney World races and are running a half at Disneyland for the first time, you are in for a treat! My experience has been (for the half marathons), that though there are thousands of runners, it feels more like a local race -- I leave my hotel 30-45 minutes before the race start and casually walk to my corral.

Post race (half marathon... don't know about the other distances), you may find some impediments to walking a direct route back to your hotel (especially if you are staying on, or planning to walk on Katella). You might need to take a detour.

I hope everyone's travels go smoothly, and that the Tinker Bell events are fun and memorable for all. :)

Corral E for me...thrilled to not be in the last corral:lmao: Hoping this gives me enough "cushion for a potty break" and maybe a picture or two.

First time doing the Tinkerbell 1/2 for me. Looking at the map, which is the same as last year, it doesn't appear that the course goes by the Candy Cane Inn. Am I correct in my thinking?

It hasn't any years past. To me, the course looks similar, maybe the same as in past years (hard to tell at that small scale).

Ack!!!! I'm suddenly having a dull achy pain on the top/side of my left foot. No injury directly preceding the pain, but I did stupidly wear really high heels to work, running errands, and attending my son's Christmas pageant last night. No pain yesterday, but pain now. I'm really hoping this doesn't flare into what I've had happen in the past to my right foot. (but usually that was from an injury, like rolling my ankle). I'm supposed to run 2 miles tomorrow morning and 10 on Saturday.....:worried:

We're SO close! Why can't I take my own advice and play it safe with footwear???

Top foot pain is almost always associated with how your shoes fit across the top of your foot. If heels you haven't worn in awhile you may just have annoyed the tendon. It is usually nothing to worry and okay to run through. I had similar top of foot pain and didn't want to google. Too scared to be out from running. Felt silly when every answer was simply watch how laces and shoes cut across the top of your foot. Hopefully it will behave for you! So close now. Good Luck.

Corral C for me this year.

Hey Tinks- I need a lot of Pixie Dust coming my way. I have appointment tomorrow regarding my knee with a Sports Med/OrthoP Surgeon. Trying to stay positive but I'm also having pain.

Best to you, Vicki -- I hope the doc can help fix you up :)

Good Luck tomorrow Vicki! I hope it goes well!!!!!!

Also, I'm not sure how I feel about the 10K course. In the end, it's the same amount of time running through the parks as the Disneyland 10K, but having all the park time at the beginning seems anticlimactic. It's like, "here, run 4 miles through the park! Now run 2 more miles past hotels and parking lots!" Oh well.

That's how princess is.... You are in magic kingdom at mile 4. Now that I think about DL 1/2 is the same. Don't worry it will be great!

Sending pixie dust!!! My favorite orthopedic doc visit was the one where he said if the pain is a 1-2 u can run.... Hope you get the same! (And a way to fix it- not sure what exactly is bugging your knee ).

I'm in E! Not D but considering they really changed the corrals this year I'll take not being in the last corral! Oh that's a load off my shoulders. Only gives me 5 or so minutes ahead of the sweepers starting but if I can book it out of the gate I should be okay.

K- it's almost a reverse to DL 10k. And they took out Dtd. I'm not sure about it. The tour of the parking lot so late in the race seems crappy. And we go uphill in DCA by screaming where that was a nice welcome down hill at DL

I'm in corral D - I didn't get a local run in to bump that one up. Poo poo - being injured since October, likely not a bad thing either. No to get out there and get more miles in!

I hate hills lol!

Even though I am totally undertrained right now I'm getting seriously excited! PT cleared me for a 3 mile run this weekend!

So excited, it's real now. I'm in corral A! Doing a 16 km run on Sunday. Hoping this snow melts before that.

I am sadly waiting to see if they do the Dooney and Burke purses. The Marathon ones are posted and on sale and that just a week before. It was all I wanted for Christmas, well that and the Haunted Mansion one!

Looks like here we went from below freezing to temps currently in the 50's with rain predicted this weekend. Gotta love New England.

Thanks for the Pixie dust Tinks !!

Good and bad news; I've got a torn meniscus and have orthoscopic surgery schedule right after Tink. Planning to walk Tink (Dr's OKd it) but Dr wants me to ONLY walk but I can still keep cardio up doing lateral workouts.
Will just try my best.

DH wants to make my race shirt...."torn meniscus on right please pass on left":thumbsup2 It did make me laugh and I just might do it.

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knows coral placement for the 10 k. I see for the half but not 10k. I got my waiver info today so I wanted to see what coral I am in. I hope it is not the last one.
Thanks for any info.

Oh no! You be careful too! :goodvibes

So excited the program came out today and the 5k route is still the same. I love that route. Love the medal too. And the kids races medal, so adorable w/ Nana.

I also got the final race email and it had the virtual goody bag. If anyone wants the email but didn't get it, pm me your address and I can forward it on to you.
