Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

I signed up for the half. Super nervous because I've only run 5Ks before. But with six months to prepare, I think it will be okay :).

Anyone know where to buy those super cute Tinkerbell running outfits? Would love to get one!

There are some super cute ones on Etsy.

Go with the AP but I would spend the extra $$$$ for the premium AP. Better discounts on merchandise, food and NO black out dates at all. (Even free parking) I swear once you have a pass you will spend more time that you ever thought you would at DL. :rotfl:

I'd love to Vicki, but I think I'll have a hard enough time convincing DH to allow me to spend the $500 for the deluxe! :lmao: We have a good friend who is a CM and has been kind enough to sign us in to the parks when we visit, but I really, truly hate to ask it of him. It has begun to look like the only reason we're friends is for this perk! Anyway - my DH is always assuming that I'll ask to be signed in to save the $$. Can you imagine what would happen if I told him that not only would we be buying our next bunch of tickets, but that I'll be spending so much! His head would explode. :faint:

I know !!!! For us it really pays to not have the block out dates since we go throughout the year. My DH is very understanding about the AP's. Thank goodness other wise there could be some trouble.:rotfl:

I have a idea.....so you don't feel so bad about bothering your CM friend...maybe pick up some gift cards or something for him. That could show your appreciation for what he's doing for you.

Lucky lady to have an understanding DH! My DH would likely tell me its okay if I told him I really wanted one and explained how it will save us in the long run. But I doubt he'd say yes to buying one for each of us. He's not a Disfreak like me.

And believe me -- I take care of my CM friend! We always take he and his DW out to lunch or dinner when we're in town. Last time we took them to Napa Rose (yummmmmm). And truthfully, he loves to share DLR with anyone/everyone, so he's happy to sign us in anytime. I just think its awfully gauche to ask, ya know? He also offers up his F&F vouchers so we can stay onsite. He's the best! :cloud9:

that's nuts! I wonder what made it go so much faster than last year...espeically since there wasn't a challenge associated with the 10k? And as I'm typing my phone chirped and runDisney has woken up for the morning and confirmed the sell out via Twitter! So does this mean we can expect a $200 registration for Tink 2015? :worried:

I'm guessing the pink C2C is a factor. And it seems all of the races are selling out faster than they used to. Last year the DL 1/2 started posting % full before I was ready to commit so I had to decide then so I wouldn't be kicking myself later. Now I think "committed" is the correct word! I'm planning to register for DL again in 2014 so the thought of W&D for a 2nd C2C crossed my mind,......must hide the credit cards :-)

There's a lot of "regular" rD runners saying its going too far for them. Quite a few on FB have sat out phm and tink- even though they ran them before. I think it's peaking in what many can afford. The room prices are craaazzyyy too. Even the discounted ones aren't good!

Will be interesting to see what happens. Still think prices go up, races sell out, but maybe more 1 and done or first timers instead of the core repeat rD fans

For those that have stayed at the GC and completed the Tink half marathon in previous years; how easy was it to get back to your hotel room afterwards?

GC looks somewhat close to the finish line; but part of the last mile looks to be on Disneyland Dr (if they go along the same route as last year), so I'm not sure how you'd back-trace right after the race. Or, if you'd be forced to walk up Walnut St. and cut over at the DLH.

The fact that the starting line looked to be right outside the hotel made me happy - though in reality I'm not sure how close it would be; or if I can even afford to stay there.

TIA

Staying at any of the hotels means you can walk out the front door to corrals in a matter of min. Very easy.

Getting back, I stayed at PPH and was able to walk around to the front of my hotel and in those doors easily. No rerouting needed. Since gch is just up the street a little farther (away from the race finish) I'd say you would also be able to walk back easily without having to reroute.

Thanks for the info!

We are running Tink and W&D in 2014 then it is break time from run Disney for awhile. There are so many other races out side of run Disney and I would like to part of some of those races.

I scored and got two rooms at Stovalls for $69.00 plus tax per night! Thanks to information I got from this site and using LMT.com!!

I'm staying on site for the first time ever (PP) and didn't even think about rerouting....hmmmm
