I have not seen the 1/2 medal. On their FB they show a quick glimps of the 10k medal. Is it the same as the 1/2? I know that is extremely unlikely, but just wondering.![]()
The video shows the half medal. 10k will be different, not revealed yet
the 1/2 is very cool! Another question, what do the 5k "medallions" look like. Are they medals, or something else, since the description is different. Sorry for all of the questions! I am new at this

On the fence since there is no challenge. Have until Fri. to decide. Saturday mornings are all about the kids race so I'm leaning towards just focusing on doing the 1/2.
My thought- tink weekend is a good plan for PRing either race. Flat courses, good weather.
So I'm going to sign up for both and decide when I get there which one to run run and which one to play! Figure I could take pics at the 10k taking it easy (also less people, less lines?) then run the half without stops
Maybe. Still thinking but I was planning to skip it, now thinking why not?

So I asked before~but now that the 10K details are public...I cant find where it states you have to be 10 years old.
Do we know for sure??![]()

Man, now I'm thinking about the 10K again....Sinces its only 6 miles I'm guessing that means a lot of it will be in the parks, what do you think the course will be like?....hmmmmm
Vicki - Can you tell me more about the kids races? Think its worth it for a 6 year old non runner? Its it fun? Chaotic? Is MIckey there?
So I was just looking at the website and I know the times of the races don't always make sense, but they have the 5k starting @ 5:45 and the 10k @ 6am. You would think they would do the opposite, b/c more people would be there Sat and even though it's MLK weekend the parks would open earlier on Sat. I just though that was funny. But then again, for DL when the sun is up earlier and it's warmer we start at 5:30, but for Tink when it's darker and presumably colder we start at 5.![]()
VickiHD said:YES !!!!! Yes to all your questions. Mickey and the gang are there at the finish. We've been doing the kids races now for years and some are better than other. I think the Tink kids race is much better organized. And what better way to introduce a healthy lifestyle to a child then a fun run at DL. In our case DH runs with our mouseketeer and I'm on side lines taking pictures with all the other parents. It is really cute to watch. It is getting more popular each year but we still keep doing it. The kids get a cute tee shirt and a plastic finishers medal which he proudly displays on the wall next to my race medals. Hope this helps.![]()
Commemorative items?
New to this....Do I want to get the pin, necklace and ears? Do most people get all?

I always get the race pins! It might be blasphemous to pin collectors, but I remove the pin on the back and turn them into fridge magnets! They make me smile every day!![]()
