Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

I'm wondering if this will be a 10K only- no challenge. Seems like it would be a pain to change everyone who pre registered around to the challenge. Hmmmm... will see.

Yup, that's why I decided to hold off on pre-registering, to avoid the possible pain in the booty of upgrading, transferring, or whatever they may come up with to accommodate.

I got my runner's world magazine last night and 1 of the 1st things I did was flip through for the ads. Found Tink, but it didn't say anything. I remember last year that's how we found out about the 10k for DL, I was hoping, but got a big fat "denied."

Anyone interested in taking bets ~ how do we find out 1st... from Patty or from them?

For the 10k durning PHM participants have to be 10 years old, so I would assume the same for this one.

Thanks Criprey- it helps eliminate some possibilities. I'm trying to plan this trip with a friend I haven't seen in years who is moving to back the west coast soon.
I want to have a plan so on registration day we can register promptly!

KIM - I saw on Nike's FB page today, in response to a comment, that they wont email out the results of the draw til JUNE 28TH!!!!!!! UGH, Seriously! If reg closes today, why does it take 2 weeks to notify us about the draw?

Because Nike is busy expanding their campus in Oregon and can only do one thing at a time.

Yeah I didnt get one either and I almost missed out except one friend of mine registered and mentioned it on facebook. I did a mad dash registration on my phone at a job fair of all places for GSC and Tink.

I went through this in the spring and I would have tried to go to san fran but I'm running MCM 2 weeks later and I have to be in DW for wedding planning the weekend of the NWM. When you submit your registration for the drawing it then has to be put into a database. Nike has to have an algorithym written for randomly drawing the names that connects with the database. They have to prepare the emails that will go out, and run all the credit cards as the names are pulled. This is a massive undertaking when you're dealing with 50k entries and 20k pulls. Watch your bank account the day of the draw they will be charging all day and that may go through before the email comes. I've run san fran and its a beautiful course, I enjoyed the one here even though I was sicker than hell when I ran it.

Worked at Nike for ten years and live half a mile from campus. I promise the group that handles the running events have zero to do with the campus expansion

So let's just say there is going to be a Tink 10k, do you all think there will be a challenge or do you think they will just do the 10k? I could probably turn down just a 10k addition BUT if they add the challenge medal then I would be severely tempted. Already going for the GSC and the pink C2C, what is another 10k to get 2 more medals??
