Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

I hope we hear something about the 10K this week! I feel like I'll be able to start planning the DL visit more once I know if i'm gonna be running on Saturday morning or getting to the park at rope drop


Kim - Nike SF posted on their FB page that the 3:15 time limit would be from your start time, not gun time. And that there will be certain check points along the course where if they think you wont make the pace time, they'll redirect you to another route.

Also, did anyone else notice that runDisney doesn't have a date for the Tink 5k on the website? It justs says 5:45 am. I wonder if that is because they are still trying to fit a 10k in and will maybe have the 5k on Friday and 10k on Saturday? I wish this were the case because I'd love to do both, but not one right after the other!!

I didn't catch that. I just saw that they didn't list a 10k and was disappointed. Maybe something to hope for?

Does anyone have any information about how the "team" registration works? Is that for large groups? Can my running buddy and I sign up as a "team"? And does it make a difference for any reason?

The running teams are just teams of 2 so your perfect!

I figured they would have to change it or alter what's been done in the past. I wonder why they changed it after so long. Like we've said it's a TNT race and there are a lot of walkers. Maybe it has to do w/ the America's Cup races ~ I know those altered the SF Marathon/1/2's and the Giants race.

I would say $95, that's what it is for the DL and Princess 1/2's. I noticed there was no date when I looked on Fri too! Fingers crossed!!

when do reservations normally open up for the DL resorts? I tried to check pricing on Paradise Pier last night for Tink weekend and it said it only went through 12/31 right now...trying to decide if I should jump on another decent rate that I found at another hotel, but kind of wanted to see what PP was going to be and see if the difference was worth it...I like the idea of PP location relative to the race start and finish! Just don't want to wait too long and miss the other rate only to find out PP was way more than I wanted to spend...and the other rate is a special that requires full pre-payment and no cancellation policy.

Guess what? I was able to run (per Dr.) 1min walk/3min run intervals yesterday!!! It was still only for 20 minutes but that is 15 total minutes of running which is more than I've done in a while now! Next week, if I feel ready, I get to run for 20 minutes straight!!!!!

I just registered for the Tink alongside my Princess registration today SO excited to get to do this race again!! 2013 was my first time and my first half ever. For the 10k durning PHM participants have to be 10 years old, so I would assume the same for this one.

I'm wondering if this will be a 10K only- no challenge. Seems like it would be a pain to change everyone who pre registered around to the challenge. Hmmmm... will see.

I figure they want the most bang for PR buck- so PHM is all the talk now, when it dies down next week, we will start hearing about Tink
