Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

I am late to the party on this thread and I have not read it all.
I am working on get my DH to agree to let me go for C2C in 2014
That means I have to be really cheap about this.

For those who have done Tink, this is my plan. Can it work? I have never been to DL

Fly in Friday, do the expo Saturday. Race Sunday, Fly home Sunday night
no park ticket, and find a roommate.

Hi! It can be done. If you're trying to save $, LAX is usually cheaper than SNA to fly into. Flying home on Sun won't be a problem either, just make sure when you are looking at flights back, look to the later afternoon ~ it's about 30-45 min to LAX and sometimes there can be traffic and that way you won't feel rushed after the race. There are 2 different shuttles that go from airports to the resort ~ DL Express and Super Shuttle. I have a code for Super Shuttle when you get ready to book if you'd like. If you get in early enough on Fri, you could hit the expo Fri also, it's usually open until 7 or so.

B/c it's DL, you don't need to stay at a resort hotel if you don't want to. BW Stovall's is the closest to the start and finish area for the nonresort hotels. Rooms haven't opened yet, and if you have an AAA Card, it's $100 or so a night.

And if you end up wanting to go to the park 1 day, Get Travel has discounted tix, they even sell a twilight tix which is around $70 and you can go in late in the afternoon until closing so you can see a little of DL.

On a non-running topic, we had an office meeting this morning. After the meeting, my boss called me into his office to tell me that I can start taking on some clients on my own! No raise yet, but we have reviews next month, so fingers crossed w/ more work I get a little bump up.

Try and get a really early flight out and maybe you can even get to the expo on Friday. There are SO many hotels right around Disneyland with really inexpensive rates (especially if you book early) you might not want a roommate. Ck out the hotels that surround DL especially on Harbor and Katella. If you can swing it (they do have discount tickets through RunDisney) you should really try and see Disneyland. Since it is the "original" there really is something really special about it. Maybe someone else can give advise on flying right after a race. Hope this helps in the planning because the C2C medal is SO worth it.

The code is UYR59. It's a $3/oneway or $6/RT discount so from LAX it'll be around $25-26 and from SNA it's $13-14. And if you use SWA, make sure to add in your Rewards # b/c you'll get 300 pts/RT!

When you go on the site, there should be either a button to mark AAA or it's under discounts. Just booked on my app, so not 100% about the actual site. I got 2 doubles for $91- $214 for the 2 nights after taxes. You just bring the card down that weekend they don't ask for a number when you book, so if you don't have one yet but get one beforehand you'll be good.

Question for you- when you had your fireside girl costume for Tink, did you wear a running skirt? If you did, brown? And how did it work out for you and where'd you get it?

My mom made it for me! It was a brown chifony flowy thing that had sparkles on it. The waist band had a zipper in it- similar to a sparkle skirt tech skirt.

Thank You Ladies!! I just booked Stovalls Inn for Tink weekend $93 per night before tax. They did not charge me card. So that is even better!!

I can't belive I am really going to go all the way to CA by myself.
