Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

A big thanks to kirstie101, sunnygal041,mommytotwoprinces, runnerRen, cripey, kim3339, vickiHD, cantwaitvaca09 for all your kind words and pixie dust for the loss of our little Madeline. Wish we could all meet up at either Disney park for some girlfriend fun....:flower3:

Did 3 miles yesterday and all I can say is I really hope the ungodly pollen goes away so the asthma won't be so bad. And oh yeah...a balmy 87 in San Antonio today...welcome spring or is it summer already ?

I was so sorry to read about Madeline - poor baby! That must have been especially difficult after you lost another one last year. What a sad thing.

You're welcome! And a meet-up will defintely happen! :goodvibes Sorry about the pollen and warm, that doesn't sound like fun.

How'd the race go?

The race was tough, well the before race was tough. It was so so so cold and windy. The first 2.25 were not so bad but then you had to turn and you were right along the lake for the last 2.25 with the whipping wind/ snow/ rain.
I was happy for it to be over. Go to facebook and see the pictures of people bundled up Chicago Get Lucky is the page.
Thanks for asking!

DVC Daisy and indygirl99,

My Fitbit arrived today. :cool1: Hope it's easy to set up--but I don't think I'm off to a good start since I can't even get the packaging open. :rotfl:

That didn't look fun. So are you in Chicago or around there? My sister and I are going out for the long 4th of July weekend.

You will get it all figured out in no time.

It is addicting.

DH asked me yesterday if he could have mine when I get a new one. :confused3 I guess I will just have to order the new Fitbit One so he can have my Ultra. ;)

You'll figure it out! We love ours and "compete" each day to see who gets the most steps. I won today with 17,000+ ;)

You will love it! I assume that you got it all set up (and out of the package LOL) but if you have any questions ask away!

I have been sick & struggling to get any steps in (flu) & it is killing me! I swear the little thing changes your life so much that when you are sick, you think, "oh no, my steps"!!! instead of "I just want to feel better" :rotfl2: It completely changes the way that you think :goodvibes

Too bad I can't get any steps while I am on the Dis Boards. :confused3

Yes you can.

I am standing here marching, well now, walking in place trying to type correctly. I take my steps any way I can get them. :scratchin

I will volunteer to get supplies at work so I can get more steps in. I park farther away at the store and work. I take my packed lunch and walk to the other building where the cafeteria is to eat. Pacing in line. I will make 5 or 6 trips up the stairs from the laundry room so that I get the extra steps and flights of stairs.

This little piece of plastic is really making me move more that is for sure.

Sending you get well wishes !!!!!!!

I think I've got it set up. Do I have to clear it every day to start a new day?
I also trying to get added to the DIS friends group but have no idea if it actually worked.

:cheer2: :woohoo: You go !!!
Of course I didn't work out tonight or run on the TM but tomorrow I will and I've got to start getting my number up.
I have a question about "the calories burned" how do you figure out what your goal is and what number to enter/edit in the activity section. (Hope I'm making sense)
I've also started using Lose It just to log my food. Now if I can just leave the Easter candy alone.:sad2:

It clears itself at midnight each night. Just make sure to have your settings on the correct time zone & you are good to go. Don't worry, you won't lose steps if you don't sync by midnight, it stores the info & will upload on your next sync. :thumbsup2

If you joined DIS Friends as Vicki D then you are there :cool1:

Oh & thanks for the get well wishes. pixiedust: I am more frusterated with losing steps than being sick! :goodvibes

Ladies those of you making reservations already are they charging your card now or later? I am seeing some really good rates here. How far is Stovalls from the race?

I will be coming in solo :( wish I had a room buddy to split costs.

Stovall's (on Katella) is across the street from the start which is on Disneyland Drive and the finish has been in the parking lot of Paradise Pier Hotel. Very easy and fast to get to.
Talk to Penny in reservations, they just need a credit card to hold your reservations.
Hope this helps.

Ok ladies help me choose my race next month!!!

I can either do the Zoo Zoom 10K which benefits our local zoo, is only $27 and I could probably get a decent time to submit for tink. OR I could do the Capital City Classic 10 miler which is $42, supposedly on a pretty course and has a super cool looking medal.....
Decisions decisions...
I think I'm leaning towards the Zoo Zoom. But I have a thing for race bling now and the medal just keeps pulling me back in.
