Quick question for anyone who knows...when it comes to figure skating, are the gouges and tracks left in the ice by all the previous skaters a hindrance? I feel like it would be tricky skating over the tracks or possible getting your blade caught in a groove. I know they zamboni the ice after every group of skaters, but is it preferable to skate on clean ice or not?
Neither have I.
(Brittney Cox finished a rather credible 5th in the moguls behind the sister act; Torah Bright finished 7th in the snowboard slopestyle).
Great start for Canada in Short Track!!!!

Just saw Sarka's crash in the Slope Style. Amazing how she was able to finish off going to down the hill afterwards.

Norway is on top of the medal standings (which means the total medal count) right now...did you mean Canada is on top of the medal podium in that event?
Once again, NBC spoiled their own prime time showing by announcing the results not just during the Today Show, but it was the very first words out of the anchor's mouth when the show opened. No warning....no "turn away now if you don't want to be spoiled".
Jerks. I wish the Olympics would give their coverage to another network.

Norway has the highest medal count but Canada has more gold & silver so is considered top...I was surprised they did it this way too.
No, they aren't. It doesn't work that way. But it's still early in the games...plenty of time for them to catch up!
declansdad said:Actually they are right, on the medal board Canada is on top because of the higher amount of silver medals.

Another country just passed both Canada and Norway in both categories.Fascinating.... AFAIC, Norway still leads. If one were to assign each medal a point value (like they do in with the placings in team figure skating for example) Norway still leads by a wide margin.
