Official 2014 Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Thread!

I just got off the phone with Disney Visa customer service and apparently the registration discount will be available starting 1/31. Soooo that stinks. :confused3 I'll probably call runDisney in the morning and see if they say anything different.

Bizarre with the dis visa discount.. I know last year it was the first 4 digits of the card (since all dis visa have the same first digits..) so XXXX.. Wouldn't hurt to try :)

I spoke with someone from runDisney last week re: the Disney visa discount and was told that the Disney visa discount would be available on 1/28 and you could enter the 1st 4 digits of your card number. I very rarely get accurate/timely notifications about discounts from the Disney visa people, so annoying!

Yeah!! Thanks!!!

I'll be doing the registrations for all 4 of us as soon as I can when they open to the public. I haven't registered for a fun run before, and I want to make sure I have all the information I need so I don't need to call anyone in the middle of the night! Can anyone tell me what details I will need to provide for each runner?

If anyone missed the first slot of AP Dumbos they're opening a second slot of them an hour before regular registration on the 28th.

I am an AP holder that got shut out last week. Where did you see that it opens for AP's early tomorrow? I looked on the AP part of the DL website and didn't see anything today.

Disneyland AP tweeted about it. I sometimes roam on their twitter when I get bored. Was doing that yesterday and saw them announcing the second early registration a couple of days back.

As far as that welcome event thing goes. The only thing that would that is slightly appealing is the early entry into the merchandise after last year's mayhem for Dumbo. I mean the pasta party tickets are right around the same price aren't they (has no clue because she goes to the local italian restaurant down the street rather the party)? But then again I would be surprised how many people would take up on that with the price tag.

I would honestly rather they charge 90 dollars and input a race retreat or something similar on race morning out here in Disneyland then that Welcome Party. I enjoy the Race Retreats at Disney World. So does my Mom, we would gladly pay for them if they offered them, they just don't.

Eh where are you looking because on the official webpage it lists June 1st. Admittedly July 1st makes a lot more sense.

This is what was in my registration confirmation

" If you did not provide proof of time at the point of registration or acquire it after you have registered, then email this information to disneysports@trackshack.com before July 1, 2014 to have your start corral placement changed. If you listed a race result as proof of time when registering online, then you do not have to do anything further. No corral changes will be made after July 1, 2014. You will no longer be able to bring proof of your estimated finish time to the Runner Relations booth during the Expo and have your start corral placement changed."

Okay I think I am going to shoot Run Disaney an email for confirmation on the date for corral changes. I'm thinking it's July 1st because that makes the most sense but who knows. I pulled up my version of the email you're talking about and it lists the July 1st date. Yet the website says June 1st and so does the active.com page where you can print the recepit (long story on why I still have that up in my browser but I do). Thanks for pointing me in the direction of where it was though.

Running the GSC next month and really NEED at least the Half to get my C2C but really, really want to run the DDD! :surfweb:

Bumping this up, since...

GENERAL REGISTRATION OPENS AT NOON EASTERN, TODAY.

I thought I would pop in and join this thread before it got huge. :) My first Disney runs were the Minnie and Donald this year and I'm hoping to register for the DDD today. :)

Thanks for sharing the Disney Visa card information.

Debbie

If anyone could post a link to Dumbo on Active it would be greatly appreciated :thumbsup2

This makes me feel better about registering under DVC. I also checked that I am not DVC or AP.

I feel bad that I "cheated" my way in, but I never expected the registration to work this morning!

Yes, I am thinking I managed to register under an early glitch. I can't recreate what I did this morning!

Question to all of you - If I received a confirmation email and my CC was charged, I am in right? From this point forward can they ask for proof of DVC or cancel my registration?

I just got a confirmation email that I am registered. Was that a glitch??

My friend has an AP and sent me the working Active.com link to register too. Can I use it? Or will they check to see if I have an AP later?

I see the links have been posted here too. If anyone can use them, is this going to be another situation like the PHM registration? Links were available and people signed up before it officially opened. I don't want to miss out on this race, if it's going to fill up immediately again.

I will be calling to confirm with RunDisney that I am registered prior to open registration...just to ensure zero glitches, in case I need to register again, but it is highly doubtful!

Now the question is...do I add the 5K to the DDD???

Did you get an email confirmation? Mine came through immediately. I'm going to assume that means all is good.

With PHM peeps who registered before they were supposed to, Disney openly announced they would be honouring all registrations (likely because Active.com has a zero refunds policy and Disney didn't want to deal with that headache).

So I think if you got the email, you're good to go!

I registered earlier today, got a confirmation email and was able to click on the "view your registration details" link to see more information. Now when I click on that link it says I'm not authorized to view that registration. Has this happened to anyone else??

Thanks, I did print a copy- it just makes me nervous! It's good to know its likely a common thing though.

BEWARE: I believe that all "glitches" for non-AP/non-DVC members were cancelled... I have a refund on my credit card for the total of DDD, but none of the "extras" I bought...I am on the phone trying to ensure I was cancelled.

I registered this moring for Dumbo Double Dare being an AP holder. I orginally wasn't going to do the Disneyland race this year because the day after the race I fly to Barcelona and didn't want to deal with race stuff before I leave on vacation for a month but I said what the heck.

I get the "you are not authorized" message. No refund. What number did you call? I am Dvc and dv card holder so I should have been ok to preregistet

I don't have any credits on my card and I see the original charge posted on 1/22.

Yikes, I'm scared now! I can't sign up now "just in case". :scared:
