Official 2014 Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Thread!

I just used the link to confirm I am registered and it all shows up correctly. I'm not going to worry about it for now! I will just assume the email got lost on its way...

I have checked the registrations on a number of occasions and they've always been fine. I won't worry as long as I'm not the only one :thumbsup2

for DL/tink vets - are there areas on the course that get tight for that half? a la the castle in MK, the roads before you go into MK and once you're out of MK? just trying to imagine what to expect on race day :)

Also, where do those of us completing a C2C get our wristbands? Is it the Runner Relations booth at the expo? Do they have a list of eligible runners? I'm 99.99% sure I put C2C on my registration information, but would I be screwed if somehow it was left off?

I did the C2C last year and - if I remember correctly - the C2C band was given to me when I picked up my bib. I don't remember going to an additional station or doing any extra "searching" for the C2C band.

I was in the 9.5-10 minute/mile corral and I remember the course being rather tight until we exited the park (ridiculously tight in some places).

The corridor where you enter the behind DCA as you approach Downtown Disney becomes more and more crowded also up through the finish.

But - hey - that's the price to pay for running through Disney parks, right? It's still a very fun race and couldn't be all that bad...I signed up again this year!

Thanks for that info!

I did that for marathon week and it was SO much easier!
Does anyone know when the preorder closes? I would like one but between the airfare and paying for GSC registration, my savings account is groaning in pain!

I know this only because I ran with a friend and we both did Tink than GSC. For me there was an additional line I had to initial when I got my bib. I was all in the system ready to go and they gave me my C2C band. My friend did not have that extra line and said something when she saw my wrist band. She then went over to runner relations and they verified she finished Tink and gave her the C2C wristband. So expect it when you get your bib, but if they don't give it to you go to runner relations. If I hadn't automatically received mine I don't either of us would have known we were missing something VERY important!

I'm sure this has been asked before, but can't find the answer.

Does anyone know when they let you know what corral you've been placed in?

Thank you! :goodvibes

Just woke with my first stress dream for this race! Was forgetting everything. Packet pickup from James spader, so not the most empathetic lol. Bibs etc were in old beat up Manila envelopes. Had managed to sign up for half, and 5k for me and DS along with a kid race for him, but hadn't brought DS to Disneyland because I forgot about 5k and kid race. Ugh. The subconscious is so rough on us!

Anyone else starting to worry while sleeping?

*whew*

A Tough one today, 85 degrees, stupid levels of humidity, gobs of burning sun and I still survived my 10k in well under the race pace (ave 13:26/mile). Heck I might even have time for a character photo!

Can't wait for race day.

Where are we finding these Dooney Bags? I didn't get an email and I can't find it on the Run Disney site!

Don't know where you can find a pic if you didn't get the email (might want to check junk just in case found mine buried in there after years of it being put in the Inbox). But I believe you preorder it in the same place you preorder the pins and other commemorative items since that's where the link directed you to.

That sounds like a doozy. Thankfully... I am not being plagued with them yet. :goodvibes

I had a series of dreams a couple of months ago now. The one I remember most is turning up at the airport having not unpacked from our last trip (a weekend trip to Sydney to see the Lion King), so I only had a weekend's worth of clothes to do me for nearly 4 weeks, no running stuff at all, no summer appropriate clothes etc. I had also forgotten to bring the park ticket vouchers, and I think I had forgotten to book accommodation for our first few nights too :rotfl:

Not sure if this has been talked about or if I'm even in the right place, but I signed up my family for the 5k for the first time this year. We are definitely not in the best shape, but I was hoping this would be the inspiration we all needed to kick up the fitness level in our lives. Unfortunately this has not been the case for all of us. I was wondering since this is the family race are there people of all sizes/shapes/speeds involved and if we end up fast walking will we be okay? We have done some other fun runs before, but nothing that we had to worry about our times. Honestly the last thing I need is for the group to feel out of place and self conscious. Any info would help... Thanks!

All Disney races have people of all sizes. :) The 5k is usually considered a "fun run," so I'm sure you and your family will be fine. :) Congrats on Getty involved! I had the same kind of goal when I first started too!

WOW. You win! :flower3:

There are people of all sizes, shapes, and speeds at Disney events, and there are ALWAYS walkers. You will be OK.

Allow me to chime in, too....you will absolutely be fine. There is such a wide variety of people there that - if you want to feel out-of-place- then you will need to actually put some effort into feeling out-of-place and self-conscious!

I hope you go ahead and participate - the Disney runs are a blast and if you're not motivated before the race, you darn well will be after!

Question about attire for the 10K:

Should I plan to wear a hat/visor?

I usually train in the morning, after sunrise, and I wear a hat for sun protection. Since the race starts at 5:30am, I'm wondering if I'll really need a hat?
