Official 2014 Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Thread!

If Trader Sam's gets busy, might I suggest going to Napa Rose Lounge & Bar at the Grand Californian Hotel instead. Quieter atmosphere and delicious food/drinks. Or if you're already at the DLH, Steakhouse 55 also has a Lounge & Bar. GCH also has the Hearthstone Lounge & Bar in the hotel lobby for your enjoyment. :)

After DL half 2013 DH and I had our celebratory dinner at Napa Rose and it was AWESOME!! Well worth the money if you can get a res.

Based on the latest Disneyland update, it looks like Napa Rose might be closed for a kitchen update the weekend of the race, or it might be re-opening that weekend.

News said:
Napa Rose – closing for kitchen renovation in early August. The restaurant is expected to be closed for three to four weeks, but an exact schedule is not yet available.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely check those out. I was originally staying at the GC and I checked out the restaurants there online. They looked really nice.

DH asked me last night if we could book Blue Bayou for an early lunch after the 10k (we're not doing the half). I thought it was a great idea :thumbsup2 Just have to beat the crowds for that elusive 11:30am spot on a Saturday on run/Labor Day weekend now :rotfl:

Hi I just tried to provide a proof of time for the Disney Dumbo Double Dare and recieved an email back saying that I am not registered for the event. I have a comfirmation receipt and money has been taken from my credit card. Has anyone else had this problem and if so has it been resolved effectively. Coming from Australia for the event so a little concern to say the least

I'm sorry I can't help with your issue. If it was me I would probably try calling RunDisney and going through your situation over the phone, just for reassurance.

I'm pretty excited to see a fellow Aussie doing the run though! :cool1:

As always, I plan on dining at Club 33 a couple of times during our DL visit. ...please make the following substitutions: "plan on" = "dream about" "a couple of times" = "just once" "our" - "ANY!" ;)

I would LOVE to go to Club 33 sometime. Like, it would be one of my happiest days ever. EVER.

Oh, and I very rarely make dining reservations at Disneyland. I had always wanted to go to Blue Bayou, and was happy to finally go a few years ago, but wasn't super-impressed. I'm glad I went and had fun, but I doubt I'd go again. Last year, we went to Cafe Orleans after the half and I really enjoyed that.

There's so much other food I like at DLand that sit-down dining just isn't a priority for me. I have to make sure I get my corn dog, and a chili cone queso, and a cream cheese pretzel, and a dole whip, and the list goes on and on...

For those that mentioned trader sam's, if the bar is packed (like it was when we were there in January), you can also order at the bar and take your drinks outside to lounge by the fireplace just down the steps from the bar. It was quite comfy, and way more conducive to conversation anyways.

Issue with registration due to active's website. Problem now fixed. Back to training and planning for an awesome trip.

Waitresses also will one around and serve you out there!!

I just found out I'm (surprise) pregnant, so I'm gonna have to defer to next year. So bummed :(

Yes, of course! The only bummer the race deferment. Otherwise many happies!!! We will have 3 under 3, and that's nuts but I'm still over the moon!

3 under 3!!! Wow!! Congrats and I'm glad you're happy after all. We'll see you next year!
