Official 2012 Wine and Dine ½ Marathon Thread

I'm trying to get some information about what happens if you get swept. From the ToT board it sounds like you were swept and brought to the finish and given a medal. My friend and I have completed over 20 1/2 marathons, including Tink this year. We registered for Wine and Dine to try for our first C2C, but she has a serious back injury. She may end up not even starting the race. But, if she feels she can do it but ends up in trouble and gets swept, will she get a C2C medal?

We've never been in this position, the only time one of us didn't finish a race (non-Disney), no medal was given.

No corral - but bib number. I'm sure someone will give RunDisney a call in the next few days and find out the corral breakdown and post it here or the facebook page - I'll make sure to post here if I see it there...

Finished my 12.5m run! Whew. Not easy. And unfortunately not very fast. I think I need to tweak my route so I don't get so many street lights for one thing. And I got another leg cramp with 3miles to go. I'm convinced it's hydration so I need to do better at that. On the plus side - only 1long run left, And then Disney here I come!!

12 Done! Whooo-hooo. Achilles o.k. so far. Lots of epsom salt baths this weekend have helped. Worked on correct form in that foot too. Advil at beginning of run. Stinger chews worked great-chased with water. 60's/low 70's - weather was breezy, perfect, and overcast, so the sun wasn't beating down on us. We passed a couple of houses this morning and smelled pancakes, sausage, and syrup! Ha! It smelled SO good! First time for that. :)

4 more weeks! I'm ready to do this thing! I think my body's ready! First time doing 12. So happy and I can't believe it. (I think I'm still on my runner's high.) :)

I love running past houses and smelling their meals. Must be some mental distraction game I play. Yet late in a run after all GUs and honey stingers are gone, my stomach will grumble loudly in protest.

So excited that the waivers are available. Just downloaded mine....#1245, I assume that will be corral A?

My morning run takes me past Woody's diner, a local greasy spoon twice (once on the way out and once on the way in). There are mornings that the smell of bacon cooking wafting out of Woody's is so good that if I had money on me, my morning run would stop right then and there.

Is there ever anyone looking to buy tickets last minute? I'm debating buying one for my dad (he's not positive he'll make it) and wondering if I'd be able to resell it if he doesn't go....

Thanks!

No waiver for me yet :-(
Did everyone who got one have a low bib number? I'm hoping I didn't get it yet because I'm at the back of the pack. Or something...

Great job! I think I cursed myself by saying I never get blisters on my toes since I started getting a doozy on my little tootsies about 5 miles in! Tried to adjust my sock around mile 7 to no avail, fought it for awhile then stopped again and was amazed by how TINY the painful bugger was! So we kept running but when my husband started complaining about a sore hip that felt better when we walked I gave up and walked the last 1.5 miles. Cest la vie, little 12.5 mile run! Not too happy with myself right now but with all the talk of blood blisters and blue toenails I was scared and let it get to me... :headache: Good news is it didn't get much bigger, but the bad news is I'll have to watch it for a bit now and make sure it heals clean!

Count me as another who received the waiver. Bib number 1961.

Any idea on how many people will be running in four weeks? I'm also doing the marathon in January and have read that is 22,000 (not sure if that is for the marathon only or for the whole weekend).

I got my mine. Bib # 4224. I'm a little worried that will put me in C corral. I'm running a 10k in 2 weeks that I might have to bring as proof of time to move up a bit in the pack. Anyone have a guess on whether I'm right in assuming C corral? Is it about 2000 runners in each corral? I think that's what the Tink 1/2 had.

I was in Corral C for Princess and had no problem with crowds etc

We are 5856 & 5884 so the 2,000 per would make sense. I think we were in the C corral for the Tink as well and run a 12:30 mile... if there are really 22,000 that would be insane! I think Tink was 12,000 or so....

Wow! Our bibs are 11004 and 13106! Is there a Z corral?!!

Are the waivers emailed, or do you need to go to some website to get them?

^ I did not get an email, just saw a link on the wine &dine hm facebook page and it took me right to it.

My question: Does anyone know the time lapse between the start of the Corrals?
Also, my bib number is in the 300's and my husband is in the 1000's- Would that put us in different Corrals or do you think the same?

Thanks.
