I really think I can do the Galloway method, I printed out the 1/2 WDW marathon and it looks very doable. I just moved the dates back 1 month, and will work his 5k app iphone starting in week 4, that is where I am right now anyways, then move into the 1/2 program. I am keeping my eyes open for a 10k in December to see how I do. Lots of 5k listed on the race scheduled for December/early Jan. around me right now. Perhaps several of those will be good.

I guess this is my OMG day, as I am off to register.

CONGRATS!!! Look for Turkey Trots around Thanksgiving. There should be a lot of them!

I have yet to register yet, but will do it next week before prices go up. I was hoping there would be a discount, but no such luck:sad2:

There are a lot of us at AKL/ AKV! We should plan a meet around there sometime during the weekend.

Kaylee, welcome!!!! Glad you signed up

I just watched the sneak peek on the Disney Blog of Krista who did the DL 1/2 as part of her journey on “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" I feel kind of silly to only be aiming at the 5k now.

I can do a 5k now just need to reduce my time by 6 minutes to meet the runDinsey requirements, should I be aiming for the 1/2 in 2012 instead of 2013?

I agree look for a Thanksgiving 10k, that is about where the 6mile mark is from what I remember last year! Just work the program and you can do it. You will LOVE the 1/2, its fun, hard...... truly you will be shocked at how well you do...at least I was!

I just registered. Woo hoo, very excited! Now to figure out a costume princess:

Welcome! The princess is a blast!
You will get lots of support here.

My sister in law works for Starwood so waiting for my family discount to come up. So jealous of you onsite gals! Sigh.

I'll be jealous of how much you are saving on hotel! The prices disney is charging are ridiculous! I'm renting points to stay at AKV, so it's not horrible, but it's still over $500 for 3 nights. Disney is the only place that I can pay that much for a hotel room...

Put in my request for a Thursday thru Tuesday stay at SSR. DM is coming along to cheer me on, or as she said "where should I have the medic to pick you up?" Sigh....won't she be surprised at the finish line? I will tell her to bring a book though, lol.

I saw $128 each way on Southwest (BUF-MCO), but I like Jetblue which is at $143+, both have direct routes and Jetblue always drops the price a couple of weeks after release for a day or two. So will keep an eye on those sites.

Congrats, I just flights last night and did not book and the price went up this morning. So mad.

I've been looking at tickets and all the prices are super expensive. Southwest has tickets for $150 each way and that's the cheapest I've found...

I used miles for mine. :rotfl:

I just booked my flight!!!

Lucky you! I saw airfare the other night that was reasonable, but first I need to get through our WDW trip at the end of August. Since we will be back in February I think we will get annual passes. So that's gonna be a big chunk of change coming up soon. I really need to just win the lottery and then all will be good.:cloud9:

Good morning ladies! I've been lurking on and off, and decided to take the plunge and do the 2012 Princess Half. Booked the vacation, bought the plane tickets, now I'm trying to figure out what princess before prices go up.

Even though I've never actually spoken to any of you, your posts talked me into doing this, and I had to post and thank you all!

Looking forward to actually chatting with you now. :goodvibes

Tuesday is the cheapest day of the week to book. Wait a week and see if it is back to the same rate...

I agree everything seems to be very high, even for a Feb. vacation week in New England. Last year I booked through AAA, and it was a mess. I saved a little, but would have rather booked through Disney and had fewer headaches. The Disney travel staff were so helpful, even when they didn't have my booking...

Welcome! I'm still trying to decide which princess to pick for my bib as well too. I was trying to explain to my DH last night that it was such a dilemma because I want the bib to coordinate with my outfit:rotfl:

I hope you'll join in and chat about training and other weekend plans!

I'm still trying to figure out how people turn tech clothes into costumes. :rotfl:There is not way I will be running in a real polyester costume!

I haven't done it yet, but I plan to try for this next race. I'm probably going to look for some tech shirts on the clearance rack at TJ Maxx or Marhsalls to use so I'm not wasting a lot of money if I mess something up. I just plan to make some minor adjustments to the shirt by altering parts and adding ribbons, fringe, etc. I'm definitely no Martha Stewart so it won't look professional, but I hope it turns out cute!

Good Morning! I am new to this, so please forgive me if I get overly excited!

I recently signed up for the half and after the initial burst of energy and smiles I started to wonder if I was as crazy as my sister thought I was. Did I mention that the furthest I have ever ran is 3 miles? I put my fears to the side and started training and reading this blog three weeks ago and I have to say thank you for your example!

I am running a 15 min. mile, but considering the weeks of training ahead, I have gone from fearful to confident and cannot wait until Feb.

Thanks again! :yay::flower3:
