I started packing last night. The weather forecast keeps changing so I'm bringing a little bit of everything. I have reminder list every where. I'm leaving from Atlanta in the morning.
I finished my costume yesterday. After a lot of BIG talk that I would not wear a silly costume, guess what I'm wearing....... My sister in law talked me into it. I made a hot pink and black Minnie Mouse tutu. I also made Minnie Mouse ears with a huge hot pink bow. I actually love the the costume on the hanger. On me, not so much. I look like one of those ballerina elephants in Dumbo.
I do have a few tips for anyone new to the race this year:
*Bring your sunglasses. You are running into the sun the last part of the race.
*Stick a little toilet paper in your bra or bag. There are porta pottys along the race route but the lines are insane. However, there are lots of bushes and trees and lots of people use them. I even saw some people pop a squat on the side of the road. Hey, I didn't judge. This race is serious business. You can't waste time walking to a bush or tree.
*Bring your own Tylenol or Advil. I think around mile 9 or 10, they do offer Tylenol but you have to sign paper work and again wait in line.
*If you're a baseball fan, the Atlanta Braves hold their spring training at the Wide World of Sports Complex. This is the same location where the Expo is held. Last year, we watched batting practice right behind home plate. It was a lot of fun and we got great pictures of the players.
*Have fun!!!!!!
