Hey....POFQ peeps...is there a group walking to the start...with an experienced person. If so I think Amy and I are in.......but like Joan said, would feel better if someone has done this before. I never check anything....so worth trying.
We are staying at the All Star Sports. I'm thinking the resort will be packed. What time should we be at the bus stop? I don't want to be late but I don't want to be too early. We stayed off property last year and got to the Wonder Lot at 3:00. I was going out of my mind just sitting there for hours.
Stayed at the All Stars for the second and third Princess and the buses are busy with line going through the lobby and out to the pool. If I remember the Sports is the first one...buses (resort and race) always stop there first and fill up. We have gone to the bus stop around 3:30-3:45 to see/get into these lines, so other will have a different experience. I think for the second Princess we we at the movie resort and they called more buses because they would fill before getting to the last stop.

Ok having my freak out moment right now.... would love a voice of reasoning!
19 days ago I did 11.1 in a 13:30 pace (I took it easier then I normally would, I'm about a 12:30 for longer distances) and since then I have only done a couple 4milers and about 5 5k's. I'm going back out today, Friday and Sunday for 5k's as well. Am I doing this right? I'm SOOO freaked out that I'm going to get hurt (I dont have the best knees in the world) by adding some longer runs.
I guess what I'm asking is with only doing 11.1, 29 days before the 1/2 will I finish ok!!!
Sorry. Freaking. Out.
Michele
I'm in a similar boat. I ran my longest run of 12 miles on Jan. 1. I have hit two other 10 miles in the last month though, but my last 10 miler will be 22 days before the actual race. I figure Galloway's plan has you doing the last long run 14 days before so I'm hoping it won't be too bad. It just worked better in my schedule this way. I did want to do a 12 miler instead of a 10, but I just didn't have time for it. Hope it's enough.
I had my first Princess half dream a few nights ago. I had a lot more last year so I must be more confident this time...although I don't feel like it.
I've been on Weight Watchers for about 3 weeks and have lost 10 lbs. I dreamed that I got to the half and Jeff Galloway was there to be my personal coach. So I started running and finished the half in 8 minutes and 29 seconds.
In my dream I thought "losing weight really does make you faster!"
I woke up laughing.![]()

inside said I'll never finish loving you"- he has been really supportive especially since hurting the foot 3 weeks before the race- the foot is healing and I have been doing 5min alternating ice/ hot water soaks for 30 minevery night per my son's running coach which seems to have helped a lot- Haven't run since the injury which has me worried but I had run 15miles the week before my injury so I'm hoping i'll be ok.
Start out much more slowly than you would normally run to save your strength for the end. Walk early and often, then you can run it in to the finish!
You'll do great!
I'm glad to hear someone else has done it successfully without running the 14 miles at the end that Galloway has on the plan. You will be fine! I have not been very consistent with my running either, much to my disspointment in myself. I have never ran more than 10 miles in preparation for any of the three 1/2's I have done and I have always made it.![]()
How far along are you? I have seen you mentioning being pg but I must have missed when you announced it.
I am sure you will be just fine. A lot of training programs only do 10 miles before the race.
I have not been training as much as I wish I was either. I did 13 miles twice before the Tinker Bell and had planne don doing 10 on Sat but I came down with a cold and skipped it. I am just hoping doing 13 miles 3 times in a month and half will carry me through.
Hope your knew is better for the race. Maybe Amy and I will see you there.Same boat here, too. I did my 11 mile run on Dec. 28 and then my knee acted up. I've done 6.2, 7.7, and 9.2 long runs since then. And my last long run tomorrow. I'm not sure what I'm going to run tomorrow yet. But I don't want to blow my knee this close to the race, either. I'm a little anxious, but I will crawl across the finish if I have to.
