Official 2012 Princess 1/2 marathon thread part 2

I submitted a 10K of 1:06 and I am 10183. Of course, I submitted my 10K time a few months after my initial registration.

I'm sure they'll move you!! I submitted a 10k time of just under 1:06 and I got #4104. I was hoping for Corral C, but from the responses here it's sounding like maybe B? Either way I'm happy.. :)

Bib number 5254 this year.....last year 3767 and was in Corral B.......

Thinking my Coral B days are over LOL.

I submitted 10k time of 1:12 for what it is worth.
Not sure the 10K times have anything to do with Bib #'s. I submitted my 10K time of 1:16 and my Bib is in the 2000's. Wouldn't make sense for you to have a number behind me if you run faster!!

I posted a Thread in Events for Princess Bib #s for the heck of it. Hoping no one minds I took the times from this thread.

If you don't see your name there freel free to post in that thread and I will add...tyring to keep up with the ones here for now.

Typically your bib # corresponds to projected finish time...so if you provided a time with proof (Name of Race on registration I am guessing) then theoretically the lower your bib # the faster you are are projected to finish. If your 10k time is slower than mine, then seems like your number would be higher, not lower - because theoretically my pace is a little faster or was on the race I submitted :goodvibes. BUT honestly who knows if they truly mean anything. May not be the case this year as there do seem to be some people with numbers NOT matching this. This has been the case in the past....lower numbers equated to faster submitted 10k or 1/2 times.

That being said, if you want to be sure you are in a "faster" corral in line with your pace, take a copy of race results with you to the expo.

Oh and I am NO expert.....still not sure how I was in Corral B last year, but apparently my time submitted was fast enough.

I did submit my race name and official time. MCM 10K in DC. Perhaps they just pick a range of anticipated finish times and then randomly assign numbers by who registered when. It doesn't seem to be matching up with expected finish times. Guess we'll see at the Expo in a few weeks!!!

Hmmm. I submitted a 10K time of 1:10 and I'm bib # 7543:confused3
I've since run a 10K in 1:05. Is it worth it to bring that time along, or does it really not matter that much??

That is a theory I had too. But some numbers are still not lining up with that either.

You can try it. My 10K was slower then yours and my number is lower so I am not sure what is going on there.

What time did you submit as your est. finish? I wonder if they are weighing that more then the proof of time?

OMG now it feels so REAL!!! Mine is #3117 :goodvibes My time submitted was a 10K about 1:06, hoping for corral B!!!

Oh I totally agree.... Who knows? And in the end its JUST a number that allows you to participate nothing more.

BOTTOM LINE.... We ALL get the same medal and run the same course. It doesn't matter when you start, just make sure you set your mental tone the first mile, run with a smile and think about how cool it is you are at Disney! Sets the tone for the whole race.

I am 1875 and Mike is 4675 and we submitted the same time and registered at the same time. Mike might have actually submitted a faster time. So I am wondering if they are bumping guys back to C like they did for Tinkerbelle. I like running with Mike, so I'm not sure what I am going to do. I am guessing I am still in B corral.

Last year I was 3146 and Mike was 4197 and we were both in B.

****
I did my last really long run today. I went 13.1 and my foot survived! Not perfect, but it is doing ok.:goodvibes Now I just need it to stay healthy until the race.

#8780. I have never ran another timed race so they have nothing to go off of, but I'm just happy to have a "cute" number that I like :rotfl2:

I'm #2572. I wanted B and I *think* I might have it.

I think this is the first race I've run where the bib numbers are assigned based on finish time (although maybe last year's BAA 10k did it that way too...I feel like the BAA is pretty organized!). Most races I've done have been by sign-up order and I actually ended up as bib #1 for a race! Um, I really wasn't stalking the sign-up, I just wake up at 4 a.m. on a regular basis.

Dagny,
I loved the green Tinkerbell WISH band. Thanks so much for giving it to me.
I wore it all the way home on Monday, along with my medal.

I would love to get a pink Princess one from you as well. Please put me on the list.

I'll be getting my Coast to Coast medal at Princess (2nd year in a row)!
Can't wait!!!

Gretchen (Disfan11)

Woo Hoo, Gretchen!!!

I have both and I love the sparkle skirts the best. They're a bit longer then the team sparkle ones (about 2 inches). The pocket I believe is only in the sparkle tech skirts (unless Leah's changed the design) and the material is a bit thicker. It's a full round skirt, vs. team sparkle's drop waist (so if you're a bit hippy like myself the sparkle skirt might work better for you). Of course, I wear both! I'm wearing my red team sparkle on the 10th for VA is for Lovers 14k. My minnie sparkle tech will be coming along with for the Princess :)

I ran in a Sparkle Tech Skirt for the first time during the Tink 1/2. I was very impressed. I liked that the skirts were 2 inches longer AND had three different pockets for "stuff". I can highly recommend them!

Hey Dagny!! So great to meet you Saturday and thanks for the WISH bracelet!!

Can I get a Princess one....'cause I just signed up for the Princess Half!!! :D

I'm also curious about any meets going on. That was so fun to meet people! :)

Yippeee!!! Glad to meet you too - looking forward to seeing you soon!

For those of you who did the Tink what are your training plans? I have not ran again yet. I had very sore calves Monday and Tuesday and am almost back to normal today. I plan to do a short (2 to 3 miles) on Sat and then get back into my training plan. Two 45 minute weekday runs with a long run on Sat. I am thinking 10 next Sat and then 5 or 6 the week after and that would bring me up to the Princess. I was originally planning on doing 13 next week, but I wasn't planning on being as sore as I was.

I haven't done a damn thing since I returned from DL. I will be back tom "something" on Monday!!!

I totally get what you are saying, but I have also noticed that the farther back you are the more of a backlog there becomes. Last year I was in D and the course was pretty crowded the whole way. I had a friend who was in B and looking at her pics the course was much more spread out.
For Tink I was in B and also found there to be more room to move. But with that said I am doing the Princess for my C2C medal so I plan on taking pics and taking it a bit easier so I will be one of those people falling behind my corral placement.

I have 5215 and my husband has 5214. We submitted a 10K time of 1:15:03.

Mine is 5335 and I submitted 1:15:something. LoL I think in the 40's or 50's.

#8780. I have never ran another timed race so they have nothing to go off of, but I'm just happy to have a "cute" number that I like :rotfl2:

LoL that was me last year. I had 8827. I always tend to get cute *coupled* numbers. ;) My Tink was 3315 and my Princess is 5335. I guess it is the year of the 3's. :rotfl:

I think this is the first race I've run where the bib numbers are assigned based on finish time (although maybe last year's BAA 10k did it that way too...I feel like the BAA is pretty organized!). Ha ha ha. I don't think I have had any that did it by registration but I have had them done alphabetically.

So I hear that the corrals are A-H this year. My bib number is 14393 so maybe I won't be in the last corral. I was hoping for a little bit of a cushion from the sweepers.

4087 here which prob means B or C.. I'll have to laugh if its B as it means I've moved up a corral for each race I've ran..

Really hoping to PR but the longer this 'yuck' stays the less confidant I get over it..

Makes me curious on the WDW race move next year- Looks like people will basically have to pick which coast to run as that would be hard to do both within a week... I would LOVE to run Tink but the timing is awful...

Just got my waiver. Now it seems so real! YIKES! I hope my knee is better by then. I still can't run on it. If there is no improvement over the weekend I'm gonna call the ortho first thing Monday morning. Anyway my bib # is 3400. My 10K time was 1:09.

I've got #6467. I don't know where this puts me, but I'm hoping at least C. I submitted my Tink Half time of 2:30.

Oh, and BTW, there were TOTALLY men in Corral B (where I was for Tink). If memory serves, there was some in A as well. There was at least one - Sean Astin. ;)
