First, hi to all the thread newbies!! Its not easy for me to go back and forth between thread pages but I know there are a handful of new people - HI!!!
I believe there is someone who specifically mentioned a running plan with hopes to finish the half in about an hour and a half? ACK! You go, girl!
I have been away for a few days (i.e. not in front of my computer) but I am still running like a mad fool. My exercise program is typically like this:
Monday - rest
Tuesday - 6 miles treadmill, 9 MPM pace
Wednesday - rest
Thursday - 7 miles outside, 10.5 MPM pace
Friday - 7 miles outside, 10.5 MPM pace
Saturday - rest
Sunday - 8 miles outside, 11 MPM pace
I am trying to up my Sunday runs gradually, and sometimes I do more treadmill then outside runs. Sometimes I skip a run day altogether and replace it with a rest day, and sometimes I do 3 miles (30 minutes) on the threadmill and then an hour with some light weights for my arms and abs. I am still trying to lose a little more weight (at 145 lbs now, 5'4" [roughly a size sml or 6-8] and I would like to get to 115 lbs and maybe a size 2-4 - I suppose that might be unrealistic, and I would be happy with 130 lbs). But anyways... that was probably way too much information.
New peeps - are you interested in a W&D shirt? I am trying to get a head count cause I am designing one and it would be fun to identify others on the thread in this way. It will be hot pink, some sort of coolmax running shirt, with probably black graphics/lettering. I hope to have pics soon.
I am having my SO carry a bag for me for after the race. Given how much I sweat (and then shiver from cold), I will likely pack a new bra, clean shirt, new underwears, new pants, new socks, new shoes, my hairbrush, lipstick, facial wipes, chapstick, and maybe a favorite snack or beverage just so I can count on a fun goody when I finish. I don't really WANT to bring a brand new change of clothes, but I will be soaked otherwise - especially with the humidity of Florida I am expecting, which likely will be a new experience for me given the crisp, rainy air of Oregon I am used to.
I forget who all is staying at POFQ, but I am pretty sure a number of us are. Maybe we can meet at the WWOS bus Saturday evening and ride to the start line together?
Hugs to everyone! - Carey
