Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

Last year I was 2698 and in Coral B
This year my # is 3702

Speculation...6 corrals, 12,000 runners =2000 per corral

I have seen numbers that would suggest at least 16000 runners (bib in the 15K range), if the 6 corrals is correct, I am guessing 18K.

So therefore, I would say 6 corrals, 3K per. So A=up to 3000, B=up to 6000, C= up to 9000, D= up to 12000, E= up to 15000, F=up to 18000.

Total speculation on my part, though!!

Yay! I'm 5917, so maybe I'll be close to you both!:thumbsup2

Yup!! :goodvibes

Dumbo_buddy, I was in the 8000 range last year and was in corral D, and the highest bib number listed in the results was around 13500. Assuming that bib number has an effect on corral (which is likely), you will NOT be in the last corral. I would guess C or D out of A-F.

And yes, you can *always* drop back a corral on race day. Two of my friends did this last year.

Finally, if you really think your corral number is wrong, and esp if you have a qualifying 10K or higher time, you can go to race relations at the expo and they will change your corral for you. A friend did this last year as well.

OMG...why can't I get my #???? It keeps saying I'm not found. OK, I'm in stage 5 freak out mode. :scared1: I have all my paperwork and confirmations number and receipt comfirmations so surely I'm ok and there's just a glitch somewhere. I just tried contacting the RunDisney people and keep getting voicemail stuff...guess they don't work on the weekend? Oh man, I'm just going to be sick about this the rest of the weekend until I get someone on the phone.

Pretty sure rundisney don't work on weekends. Take a dep breath. Call on Monday...check spelling, birthdate. You have confirmation so you are fine.

Oh no, Summer! I hope you get it figured out soon. I was so worried something like that was going to happen to me, but mine worked just fine.

LOL Kenyan :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am #831.....hopefully corral A!

When did you sign up and what is your estimated time? Maybe we can figure out how they assigned numbers ;)

I signed up at the end of October. I think it was 60% full at the time. My estimated finish is right at 2 hours (2:00). How about you?

Hi,
Last 1/2 I did (Jan 2010) at Disney we got on the bus at around 3:55am, but I heard people saying that the buses from the hotel kept running until 5am. Given how ridiculous it is to be there 2 hours early (for corral c, for example) and since there is no race retreat at the Princess 1/2 (boo!) I would love to not sit around for 2 hours prior to running.

I did all 13.1 miles today (on a treadmill -- bad weather) and also got my bib # - 5315 - so I am super psyched!

thanks for any advice,
Karen

Thanks for your info Karen! I was wondering why on earth I'd have to be there at +/-330am when my number is 10XXX. I think we'll plan on leaving closer to 415 from the Poly then!

They do say in the race materials that you must be in your corral at 5am in order to be allowed to start the race. And that it takes about 20 minutes to walk from the bus drop-off area to the corrals. (That doesn't include checking a bag if you want to do that or using the restroom before lining up). So, I have a feeling I'm going to have to get out there earlier than I want even though I'm in the very last corral. I just need to remember to bring something to sit on so I don't have to stand that whole time.

I remember getting to the Detroit Half and in my corral 20 minutes before start. There were no bouncers. There were tons of people lining the sidewalk right next to the corrals. I think there were 20,000 runners. I was in corral K!! lol I finished in 2:47. Fun day with music.

How strict is Disney???
I can't wait for the Disney fireworks that they are going to set off, just for us!

I've even received the couple of emails from Disney with tips, etc. for the race and also the one that had the link to the program so I know I'm in the system somewhere...maybe my b-day is entered incorrectly or something and that's why it won't come up. I've been so excited lately to get the number so I'm just disappointed that I can't get it...and my last "long" run before I start to taper is tomorrow so it would have made for a cool motivator. Oh well, thank God I save EVERYTHING as far as correspondence and confirmations...I even still have the email from the 10K time I submitted and their response of what they changed my finish time to, so I have to be in there somewhere!! :headache:

Yeah, that's the last thing you need is stress. But I am positive you will get your number on Monday. :) Just have your confirmation # ready when you call.

What is your running schedule? Who are you following? I am running 6-7 tomorrow, 10 next Sunday and 7 on the 20th. Is that tapering enough?? I don't know Nike's and am curious what they recommend. I was planning on running 14 on the 13th but my foot has been nagging.

I iced it today and did some stretches etc. Everything for the plantar tendon business.

I had to zone out my husband. He was pressuring me to run faster and harder. Dang, I'm 45 years old, things start to snap. Lol
I just want to have fun. princess:

Nothing to add... Just a big WOO HOO I am sooo excited for this!

So much snow and ice by me i am so paranoid about a slip and fall, i use a ski pole to walk to my car. Ironically the roads are clear so i don't have to run on treadmill.

This year my # is 3702

We are bib buddies! I'm 3703! How cool is that??

Ran my VERY hilly 11.2 miles today, finished in 2:32, so I'm thinking my pipe dream of a 2:45 half time is just that, a pipe dream. Which is totally fine with me because this time last year I had no idea I would be able to run 13.1 miles period, so now I'm just going to focus on finishing and having fun (and getting some great pictures :rotfl2:).

Thanks for the kind words...I'm trying to just forget about it until Monday!

I have a trainer that I've been working out with in her boot camp classes for a little over a year now and she's also a runner and has trained several people I know for half and full marathons so I get my running schedule from her. Tomorrow I'm scheduled for 10, but during all of my training I was expecting to go up to 11 before the race...just going off of the plan that she used to train my BF for his first half, but I was wrong! She only has me doing 10. I did 10 last weekend too, so as long as I feel ok tomorrow morning I'm bumping my run to 11 just because that's sort of where I wanted to be all along and I feel like that's what I want mentally. my next 2 long runs before the race will be 6 and 5, with 2 other shorter runs each week on tuesdays and thursdays.

Found a way to take my mind off of things...work on my blingin' race day shirt!!! Here's a pic of the back...will finish off the front tomrrow.

Don't worry about tapering....it's not so important for a half.

Wow! I was surprised my DD's and I weren't back to back to back numbers again this year. They are 3707 and 3710 and I registered us all the same time the first of August. They want to run in 2:10. I think they will be more around 2:20. I will do what ever they want..we will run together and finish together.

Woo-Woo! Bib # is 2920! Happy, happy, happy! Just hope I can keep up - left calf consistently tight and left shin bothering me on and off today - and that's just while running errands!! Will try for 12 again tomorrow but am SO paranoid about something snapping 3 wks before race day that I will just go for as long as I feel good and will NOT push myself as I have in weeks past.

Saysay - we will do our best THIS year and, if that doesn't cut it, I'm with ya for next year!!! Heck, I'm with ya for next year, regardless!
