I had subscribed to the old thread and just found this one (now 19 pages in... a little slow on the uptake
).
I'm super nervous- have done 7 miles so far. Tomorrow my goal is 8. I'm doing a version of the Hal Higdon but ramped up my miles a little more so I end with 12 instead of 10. Just mentally I need to know I did 12 before this thing.
My nervousness now has turned from running to my mom. She's going to be a spectator, and is 62 (turning 63 the day before the 5K
) and God love her, is the most oblivious person I know. She can get lost in her own house. We've been to Disney almost 30 times but I'm afraid she's going to get lost on me or something! I'd love for her to see me when I race at the viewing areas (miles 4, 8 and 13) but I'm afraid it might be too complicated for her.
Does anyone know if getting around to the viewing areas is somewhat easy- or will it be too hard for her and maybe I should just tell her to wait at the end for me. Also, I need to be on the bus by 4am (staying at POR) but should she as well? Otherwise I'd be going it alone... which I'm terrified of doing!
Edited to add: I read about spectators being able to get text message updates of a runner's progress and that it was on the Princess website but I can't seem to find it. Anyone know how to do that?
