Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

I really felt my training was going well. Did a good 11 mile walk/run last week at 15:11 pace. Then did 4 miles at 14:51 pace. Getting ready to do my 12 mile final long run. Woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible stiff neck and pain from the base of my skull down my back and my arm. Now on muscle relaxant and advil. Getting better but still hurts. This is the best weather that I have seen in months and I am not even getting outside to enjoy it. At least I feel comfortable about the preparation I have done. I figure it is better for me to rest all these muscles and get better for the race. I will just rely on my past training.Thank goodness still a week and a half to get better!

DD's dad is coming down to watch her so I can run, but his plane doesn't get in until 11 on Saturday night. I have had nightmares about plane problems and not being able to run. Hope everything goes smoothly!

I am running alone in corral A and would love to meet up with anyone to chat while we wait.

Just wondering how some of you were figuring out which corral you're in?:confused3

I think people are just guestimating based on 6 corrals and 17,000 runners - approximately 3000 per corral more or less.

I am over the virus that was like the flu, still really weak. I did a little eliptical today at my PT appointment and some other stuff. Looking good for me to finish, though not near where I was and I am prepared to walk alot more than I had planned. Just hoping my foot holds up. I am going to try to get a walk and some eliptical in tomorrow, my body is still wiped, but I need to get some exercise in!

I emailed run disney and asked. So did a couple of my friends who are going.

But there was some conflicting info. for example- I was told I was in corral A. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: HAAAAA!!! My estimated time to finish (based on previous 10K time) is 2:28. I am SURE they made a mistake when they told me corral A. There is NO way. I didn't worry about asking them to recheck- I am SURE I am not in A by mistake. Positive.

My friends also emailed. My friends all have times from 2:18-2:26 and they were all told corral B. One email said that people with times from 2:01-2:30 will be in corral B.

BUT--- Someone on FB was told that her projected time of 2:19 put her in corral A. She spoke directly to them, didn't mess with emails.

Another friend said that her email stated corral D was finish times from 2:51-3:00.

My little sister turned in a 3:00 projected time finish, and she is placed in corral E. No proof of time though for her, just her guess.

One email said that people with times from 2:01-2:30 will be in corral B.

Soooo.... take all that for what it's worth. I think really, we won't know until we show up at the Expo and see what our bibs say. I think the rundisney folks are awesome for even giving us the info, but there's been a lot of conflicting info being given (by Disney) so I say wait and see.

Hope that helps some with an idea of where we might end up.

Summary:

A corral: finish before 2 hours.
B corral: 2:01-2:30 projected time.
C corral: 2:31-2:50
D corral: 2:51- 3:00
E corral: 3:00- ???
F corral: 3:30 finishers I guess

They would not tell me how many runners they expect- just an estimated 16,000-17,000 runners.

Yes- I am *that* person. They were willing to answer, so I was willing to keep asking. :thumbsup2

Summer--- LOL!!! That's my DAD! He said he almost signed up just to make sure he could be there to "help" my sister and I through this. Because he thinks we can't do it. I was like, dude, how can you "help?" He's such a pessimist, keeps saying I bit off more than I can chew, yada yada. He's done one half, and it was Nashville (holy hills!) so he's comparing it to that. I'll be fine. My sis will survive.

My dad was bugging me a couple weeks ago...he is so happy that I've started running that he keeps telling me to back off my training! He's afraid I'll get hurt, give up and never run again! Of course he thinks I train like he does 7 days a week, I have him convinced now (I think) that I will be fine.
Now if I could get him to stop rolling his eyes when I talk about my running skirts :rotfl:

Trying to find an old post...a long, long time ago I remember reading a post that included a link to someone who blogged infor about each mile of the Princess. I thought I saved it in my favorites but *poof*! I can't find it. Does anyone else remember/have this?

...I have to say, I am starting to freak out a little.

I don't really care what corral I'm in (looks like I will be in B from the posts above...). I just want to finish...:goodvibes

I'm #3184, so I think I'm in B too.

This is from the back of a shirt I got at the wine and dine expo. I thought all you guys talking about sweating would appreciate it...

 Love it!!! I need one!

OMG my dad hasn't been all that supportive either. He keeps shaking his head and wondering outloud. Afraid I'm going to get hurt, doesn't like me running long distances alone. I cough he immediately brings up running. :headache: This from the man who has always told me how important exercise is.... apparently just not this much exercise! I think he is hoping that I'll do this and that will get it out of my system. :rolleyes1 Worry wart!

 thanks! you're right, i should give myself a break. i've always had a hard time with my weight. i've had issues with insulin resistance and am on diabetes medication so my weight is really hard to manage.

but you're right - i gave birth! some things are just going to remain low and saggy! (ie, my b**bs) lol!!

I was diagnosed with insulin resistance this last fall and my scale NEVER moves! I am on metformin now and feel better even if the weight is such a struggle. I can accept the changes to my body from the kiddos (and they were certainly worth it!!) but wish I would see more results from all this hard work.

Please send some healthy vibes down here to FL. There are all kinds of yuckiness going around down here on the Space Coast. I have been a mess for three days....congestion, body hurts, headache. Kids are puking left and right where I work. Ugh! I was supposed to do my ten miles on Monday and now don't want to do it this close to race day. I have gone up to nine.
I am taking the vitamins and resting and hope to do a few miles tomorrow. This isn't helping how freaked I am already about not making the time.

We can use some of those health vibes in South Florida as well. I am in Ft Lauderdale andnhad the flu last week and was feeling better this past monday then woke up Wednesday morning feeling horrible!! Started a z pack today and am hoping it kicks whatever it is I have out of my system by next week!!! I NEED to get better!!

((HUGS)) to all the sickies right now!

I am just uploading new music to my ipod for the half, last minute things getting done.....woohoo!!

I am joining in the conversation late, but I will be doing the Princess Half solo next weekend :) My running buddy had to drop out when she found a lump in her breast and have a partial masectomy yesterday. :(

I guess I should start looking around through this thread:surfweb:

I don't think I blogged about every mile, but here is my race report from last year:

Part 1

Part 2

EVERYONE send out the good vibes & prayers for health! Tons of sickness around here in Atlanta. I've been subbing at the preschool like crazy b/c of all the sick teachers / kids (your class is my favorite, Julie - shhh!), but now I'm SO paranoid that I'll pick up something myself right before the race!!!! Trying to do all the right stuff - keep exercising, eat right, get enough sleep, force wet wipes on all the nosepickers...:rolleyes1
