Official 2011 Disneyland Half Thread!

Has anyone used this Chrono B Tag at a race before? The Disney races here in Florida have always used the D Tag which attaches to your shoe.

The B Tag is part of your bib and seems to have specific placement instructions which may interfere with some clothing items, etc. I never pin all four corners of my bib, but I guess I will have to this time.

Last year's Disneyland Half used a D-Tag. I've never heard of a B-Tag. :confused3

From what I've seen starting I think after the W&D (or maybe with it?) all the Disney races are using B-tags now. I belive in the January thread there's discussion about the differences.

A few racers on the boards have used them and have some tips posted in that thread about it. I think the overall consensus was you can still do most of what you already do it with the bib as long as that doesn't involve bending/folding it. There are even a couple reports that one layer of clothing won't really interfere.

I just did the Princess this year and it was still the D Tag. That's good to hear about the clothing layer since I usually have a light layer over my bib at least at the beginning. I try to keep it pulled up over the number, but I don't want to interfere with the timing.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I did the Princess this year too. But the info on the Princess page for next year's race says B-tag so it's a trend that's coming to the Florida races as well.

It's funny though because the FAQ for the Disneyland half still references D-tags instead of B-tags. They haven't updated their FAQs I guess.

Anybody know if bib numbers have anything at all to do with our corral placement?:confused3

For those who were trying to get into the race but missed the registration window. A Snail's Pace Shoe Store has a few spots available. They're marked up to $195 but include a 1 day park hopper pass.

If you're interested in one of those spots contact their Academy Director Michelle Montiel at 714-392-3290 or Michelle.Montiel@ASnailsPace.net

(that's from their email, I'm just passing this on as a service to the many people who couldn't get in earlier)

It's been guesstimated on a few FB and Disney runnng forums that the corral breakdown is approixmately as follows:

A - 1-2143
B - 2144-4286
C - 4287-6429
D - 6430-8571
E - 8572-10714
F - 10715-12857
G - 12858-15000

Has anyone seen a link for runner tracking?

I haven't yet and I'm definitely watching for it. It's the only way my parents will be able to follow along. I think it came out a little later than the waivers for the Princess but not too long after.

Just a head's up, too, for anyone who read you can set up runner tracking at the expo. The person with the phone has to confirm the set-up so while yes you can set it up at the expo, the confirmation and everything also has to be completed. This can be troublesome for some one who isn't there with you and/or may not check their phone in time to confirm it.

Got a 10 miler under my belt today with sub 11 min miles so I think I'll atleast finish :)

Hope those corral placements are off by aleast 5 numbers cause I'd prefer to be in D over E :rotfl2: but just glad I'm not in the last corral!

31 days!

Those corral guesses put me in Corral C and wave 1. If that's true I'm probably start toward the back of the corral so I can run/walk and not worry as much about people behind me at least at the beginning.

I would also be in C. I think I was in E last year. I will also probably start toward the back. I start out jogging but after about 1 mile it's already time for a walk break. :rotfl:

I'll be in C as well. DBF will be in D for his first race so I'm trying to find out if he wants me to drop back with him. Is there anyone else likely to be in D that if he doesn't want me to drop back I can at least introduce him so he's not alone? :flower3:

A whole mile. My first walk breaks is scheduled after about 40 seconds but I may run slow and stretch that first one a little bit longer.:rotfl2: Right now, the plan is run :40/walk :40 until I'm through the theme parks then up it to :60/:40. I normally keep the first interval open and go with the flow until things thin out a little bit. In my first 2 I started out walking from the back. With my corral placement I'll probably want to start out slowly running.

Sooooooooooooooo glad I'm not the only one....
