Official 2011 Disneyland Half Thread!

Bumping up and letting everyone know Run Disney is showing 65% full. I'm hoping to wait a little bit longer before signing up. Instead of going down, airline rates went up.

I anticipate registering in four days.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Continental has some crazy cheap rates out of Pittsburgh right now----$184.00 ROUND TRIP--fees inluded!!!!!! Everyone else is double that!

I saw that rate but I'm a good 140 miles from Pittsburgh. Realistically I can fly out of Columbus, Canton/Akron, Cleveland, or Dayton. I'd lose most of my saving in Airport parking, extra driving, and an extra night in the hotel.

They updated the numbers again today- 70% for the 1/2 and 60% for the 5K. I'm sure there's also going to be a big bump on Monday or Tuesday after registrations at the Princess Expo this weekend.

So much for trying to wait for a map and theme for the 5K. Looks like I have to make up my mind sooner rather than later. :rotfl:

We registered a few weeks back, reserved the hotel, and as of today, we have our flights booked. Based on oil prices, and seeing that Southwest cheapest fares from Orlando to Orange County (and LAX) jump $10 per person each way since a few days ago, I just booked them this morning. A lot fewer times to choose from at the cheapest fare, so we didn't get our 1st pick of flight times, but at least we are booked before the flights go up even more. We have not flown into SNA before, but happy that it's cheaper and closer to Disneyland.

My family and I just registered for the Disneyland 1/2 marathon....were going to try for the coast to coast. My mom is hoping that she will be able to complete the race she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be starting her chemo this month.

Sending good and tons of healing thoughts her way! I hope that you are all able to run/walk together. I can't think of a more meaningful thing to do after finishing chemotherapy if she is up for it. That is truly a pixie dust moment and why I love running at Disney. :lovestruc

I registered for this at the princess expo.:cool1::cool1: I haven't gotten my confirmation email, but I have the receipt!!!

Positive thoughts and prayers for your mom, and your whole family as you go through this journey. Cancer Sucks!

My mom and dad are my tail wind as I do my races now. I did my 1st half in Jan at WDW, and I know they were smiling down on me. My mom (62) passed away 6/25/10 from ovarian cancer, and my dad (67) followed her on 11/9/10 from lymphoma. I had almost no training for my 1st half, and completed in 3:19:07. I'm hoping the Disneyland one I am able to really train this year and knock a bunch of time off! With my angels helping me throughout...I totally with they had been able to run a race with me, and I pray you and your mom are able to at Disneyland!

Prayers!

Stephanie

Does anybody know what theme rundisney might be throwing around for the 5k? I was thinking maybe Little Mermaid with the ride opening in June at DCA or Cars for the Cars 2 release. Just curious.

They just update the race website. The race is now 80% full. I'm probably going to register next week after my credit card closes (to get the extra month), even though I don't have airfare yet. I'm guessing the jump was from Princess weekend. I'll keep watching and if it goes up again I won't wait any longer.

Went ahead and registered tonight since with the large jump in the last few days figure I'd rather be safe than sorry :)

Now have the next 182 days to figure out if I'm completely crazy or not... and book airfare/hotel/time off etc

I registered for this at the princess expo.:cool1::cool1: I haven't gotten my confirmation email, but I have the receipt!!!

I just got my confirmation of registration in my inbox. Hopefully yours will follow shortly!!!

We bit the bullet and registered and booked flights over the weekend.

We're flying Alaska Airlines for $220 rt (Friday - Monday) and we have the Anaheim HOJO booked for 3 nights.

Now I just have to decide if we're taking DS (he will be 1 year at that point) and hiring childcare for the HM morning, or leaving him at home with my parents... :rolleyes1

I got mine as well; however, when I click on the view your complete registration details it tells me I am not authorized to view it. :confused3

Gave me the same message. I am hoping it is just an issue of not updating all the databases at the same time and that we will get a different message when we try again today.

DD will be staying with my in-laws...school is already in session here, and we don't want to pull her out for 4 days that early on since we are taking her out for a Disney Dream cruise over Halloween. I worried about hiring childcare for so early in the am anyway. DH and I will have a great date weekend...our first real trip away since DD was born.

First timer, well, for Disneyland anyways...can anyone give me the basics? Which airport should I fly into? Host hotels? What's the deal with transportation? I know nothing!! Oh, one more, the biggie, should have been the first thing I asked, I finished the Princess in 3:29:30, is that going to let me get the C2C?

TIA!
