OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

Does anyone know when they will be filming the Christmas parade at the MK? Last year our visit to MVMCP coincided with the weekend that they were doing the filming, and I would like to avoid that if possible this year.

I should add, it wasn't the biggest deal in the world, but things were taken down or closed off for the purpose of filming, and I like to see all of the decorations.

Great post! We are going to our first MVMCP on Nov. 16th!

What time can you get into the park with the MVMCP ticket? We don't have park hoppers and are planning on visiting AK that morning, but would like to get to MK as early as possible.

Thanks so much for posting all this great info! :goodvibes

I've got to take some notes!!! :)

So 2 dance parties...where is Diamond horseshoe (all the times I have been in Disney and I don't know where this is).

The Diamond Horseshoe is located in Frontierland, next to the passage from the Agrabah side of Adventureland.

Where is the 7 Drawfs (is it in the same location during the Halloween...we missed them at the Halloween party b/c the lines were so long)?

They are in a new location this year - the Skyway. This is more commonly referred to as Stroller Parking, near the Peter Pan attraction. You'll be happy to know that they are planning on making the dwarfs available all evening. In the past, they were out for 30 and gone for 30. Hopefully this extra time will help move the line quicker.

That is the million dollar question at the moment.

I personally believe it is 4. It was 4 in the past and as a CM there is a huge operational benefit to the 4 opening. I do not think we have the man power to handle a 7 opening - CMs would be exploding everywhere.

However, there are multiple threads debating this very question and some rumors indicate that Disney will not let people enter until 7.

The good news is, this debate will be over once the first MNSSHP occurs, plenty of time for you to plan for MVMCP!

I went to MVMCP a few years back before they were running the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show...my family is going back this year and I was wondering what some party regulars thought of the show?

I was wondering why the party on December 7th is not an advanced purchase date? Is it going to be really busy that night??

There are fewer nights than ever before that don't have the advance purchase discount.

The truth is that ANY night in the last couple of weeks can sell out. We last went in 08, and BOTH of the last Tuesdays sold out (the 9th and 16th).

Look at it this way though. My thought is that without the advance purchase discount, that makes it LESS likely to sell out. Those with a choice will choose nights with a discount.

And since there is no advance purchase for these nights. When is the earliest we can buy them and where?

I know it;s been 2 years now, but I still miss the “Mickey’s Twas the Night Before Christmas" show, darnit! I wish they'd bring it back.

I agree. It was a definite highlight. Totally Tomorrowland Christmas was a dissapointing "replacement".

I'm so glad we got to see it in 08!

But not to worry, there are plenty of other charming things to do at the party...... Belle's Enchanted Storytime...... Scrooge's Tree Stand....... The Tremaine Family Dance Party.......

No ..... wait...... early reports are that those bit the dust for this year....... :confused3

Sorry to be ignorant here, but I was looking to be at the park by chance on November 12. Does this mean that I will need to buy the regular ticket, plus the other ticket for the party or else get booted from the park at 7pm? Do all the rides stay open?

Yes you have to buy a MVMCP ticket also if you would like to stay after 7pm. They escort guests out of the park that don't have the MVMCP wristband

If you want to spend the day at MK and stay for the party, then yes, you'll have to purchase a regular park ticket plus the MVMCP ticket for the party. Otherwise, you need to leave the park when the party starts.

The party is a separately ticketed event and is not included in standard park admission.

As for rides, I'm not 100% sure of what stays open and what closes. Someone else will surely have that info.
