OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

We are planning on going to the Nov 12 MVMCP and I was wondering if they do special shows this early. I know there is the parade, but is there more?

All of the entertainment is listed in the first post, everything will be scheduled to start with the first party.

Does anyone know if they will have the face painting and if so, where? Thanks!

I believe the previous poster was talking about MNSSHP? I am not familiar with face painting at MVMCP - hopefully someone can correct me.

in years past, after the last party date which is the 19th this year, don't they hold the party like atmosphere every night through Christmas? I'm not seeing that in the calendar for Dec, or is it just the parade they do each night?

The parade, castle show, and (I'm thinking) Totally Tomorrowland Christmas go into Daily Ops. Meaning, they will replace the regular parade and castle show during the day time operation between that final party and typically through the new year.

Are all of the rides open during the party?

Check out post one for last year's map - it shows which attractions are available.

OMG I just saw that the Seven Dwarfs are going to be at MVMCP!!!!

:dance3:

If that is true, I will be RUNNING to the Skyway as soon as I get in!!!! Last year they had princesses in the Skyway, I think I saw Belle and the Beast and then Snow White and her prince, and the line for them was crazy! I don't care how long I have to wait to meet the Dwarfs!!! I always thought it was a little unfair that they were only at the Halloween party! :rotfl:

So definitely put me in the "BRING BACK SCROOGE" Camp!

The dwarfs are out at the Halloween party, and I think it's cool for each party to have its own special things.

Honestly, the party list doesn't look that special to me at all. So many of those characters are already meetable during the day. Tiana/Naveen, Rapunzel/Flynn will be a daytime attraction too.

Couple the loss of Scrooge with the loss of Belle's enchanted storytime, and it seems like the Christmas party just keeps losing its unique Christmas charm.

Berlioz..... on your website there's a photo of you with the dancing reindeer. Is this something available to all at the party, or something special you got to do? I think it's adorable!

I also don't see any Alice characters on the list. Is that a cut from last before or might we expect to see them added?

So I guess we can assume the Tremaine family dance party is no more????

Another charming holiday tidbit bites the dust.........

I honestly don't see anything new that offsets all the losses. We waited through the dwarf line twice last year at MNSSHP, and that does nothing for me. We were going back for the different things they do at MVMCP.

And for those looking forward to the dwarfs, do keep in mind Snow White will not be with them. She'll be over in Toontown with the other princesses.

The folks going to the Halloween party at least got the addition of the rare Old Hag Witch. I'd sure like to see some other rare character brought out to make up for all the apparent losses at MVMCP.

I'm afraid that was something special arranged for me. Sorry!

The Alice characters were cut. :confused3

I believe the Diamond Horseshoe dance party is replacing the one at the Grotto, but as you mentioned, it does not include the Tremaines.

Still, an adorable photo op! :thumbsup2

So let's get this straight....

1) Alice & Co are out (in 08 we saw Alice, the Queen, The Tweedles & the MH).
2) Tremaine Dance party is out.
3) Belle's Storytime is out.
4) Scrooge and his tree stand are out.
5) The princes are on the bubble.

I don't care one WHIT about a dance party with the TS characters.
I don't care about the dwarfs since we saw them at MNSSHP last year.

For the first time, I'm really starting to regret having bought tickets to 2 parties. It's looking more and more like I could have seen everything I wanted in one night.

I think that's pathetic. I know FL is under construction, but the vast majority of it is still there. They are really shortchanging that area, which just happens to be my favorite.

My family and I are VERY excited to be attending on December 14 this year!! (Less than 4 months till we arrive!)

My question is about Photopass... I know that they hand out special Photopass offers during the party. If I was to pre-order a CD for the rest of my trip, could I still add the MVMCP pictures to it without issue?

Many thanks!!

yes, I do this every year!

Wait a minute.... so Scrooge won't be out at all? Even during regular park hours?! :sad1:

No one has specified anything about regular park hours. But I think we can assume that if he WAS around during the day, they'd keep him out at night.

I sure hope they beef up that list a bit.

We saw the dwarfs last year at MNSSHP. Let me just say it was hard to get a really good pick cuz there are so many in the pic. the line got long fast. we got there 30 minutes early and were like the 5th in line. I'm looking forward to the christmas party this year. we've never been to it!

Quick Question .... Do kids tend to dress up as they do at the Halloween Party? tia

What role will the weather play for the MVMCP? Do they cancel if raining an if they do, do you just lose the tickets?

thanks

Not as much, but some do.

I think the show goes on unless it's really pouring and the fireworks can't be held. Just be prepared for potential cold evenings and hope for the best! I loaded up on those heat packs they sell for sporting events, but was lucky enough not to need them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this year! In 08 I attended the party in shorts and a t-shirt and loved it!

probably none. we went to the mnsshp last year and it POURED for a couple of hours at the beginning. everything went on as scheduled.

Thank you Berlioz70, it will be very helpful for our first MVMCP. Any information will be helpful and I can't wait when people start posting the pictures.
So 2 dance parties...where is Diamond horseshoe (all the times I have been in Disney and I don't know where this is).

Where is the 7 Drawfs (is it in the same location during the Halloween...we missed them at the Halloween party b/c the lines were so long)?

Thanks

We've been to the party several times and plan going twice on our trip in November. While I can't remember seeing anyone in full holiday outfits, there are many people wearing Santa hats or holiday Mickey/Minnie ears. DH wears his Santa hat with Goofy ears, I wear my holiday Minnie ears, and DS3 wears holiday Mickey ears.

We are traveling from La. on the 15th (about 14 hour drive) stopping about halfway and getting to the All Star Music about 3 pm. We have a 5 year old with us. Would you go to MVMCP the 16th when we arrive or the 17th or 19th. If I am correct the only date you can buy advanced tickets is for the 16th.

How do you get MVMC tickets for the other nights?

Thanks to all for your help with this. Been to Disney about 6 times, but never at Christmas.

I just ordered my tickets for Dec 12. Here's hoping the kids (DD9, DD7 and DDalmost4) can stay up to enjoy it. We're planning to sleep in the mornings before and after. But we'll be ready if they get cranky, and head back to the resort anyway.

I thought you couldn't get advanced purchase tickets for Dec 12. Maybe I just don't understand Disney's definition of advanced purchase.

Someone please explain. I would love to be able to go ahead and order our tix for Dec 12!

You can buy them in advance... you just don't get the discounted price.
