This is a great story. Mark Herzlich from BC will most likely play Saturday after missing all of last season with cancer. I hope this kid has a great year.

That's awesome! I'm no BC fan obviously, but anytime someone can overcome cancer and pick back up something as demanding as football I can only give them kudos and wish them the best. (Except of course when they play the Noles on 10/10)
Well, hopefully Ed, the scholarship dollars will also educate you in the correct naming of our beloved university as well.Best of luck to your son in his choice of study in the coming year. A paid education is so well worth the effort and the relief of burden of student loans when you go out into the working world.
When TCD started this thread I was also pondering some philosophical questions around in my head. Such as:
- if a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound?
- how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
- how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
So I decided to infuse a philosophical aspect into the college football thread and purposely alter the name of another Alabama university and see how long it would take for anybody to notice.
We now have our answer! Roll Tide
Bama ED
PS-got back late last night from the Bama-San Jose St. game and the stadium addition is beautiful. Nearly 102,000 seats. Penn State comes to town next week.
Here's how College Sports writer, Tom Zebold, of the Lakeland Ledger (my local paper) lines up the SEC:
SEC East:
1) Florida (Without Tebow? Yeah, without Tebow.)
2) Georgia (If they can find a QB who can produce)
3) South Carolina
4) Tennessee
5) U Kentucky
6) Vanderbilt
SEC West:
1) Alabama (But only if the re-loaded defense resembles last year's squad)
2) Auburn (gave good vibes about Cameron Newton - QB)
3) Arkansas
4) LSU
5) Ole Miss
6) Mississippi State
In December, we'll see if this guy predicted correctly.
Georgia and Auburn will play for the SEC title this year.
