auburn is ranked #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Congratulations Auburn! It was a well played game. I hope to see ya'll go all the way to the BCS Championship Game. Cam Newton is awesome! I would also like to see him get the Heisman Trophy. I will still pull for my LSU TIGERS, but I knew it would be a difficult game without a good QB. Hopefully things will be different next year at Death Valley Stadium.
I was watching some of the BSU game tonight and my brain hurt from the smurf turf, so I went to Walmart and bought green thongs and bras for my clothesline instead. It made me feel better.

I tried to watch some of that Boise game, too. But between that smurf turf and that dude with the woman-ish voice doing the play-by-play announcing, I just couldn't.

I'm not sure who it worse, Beth Mowins or Rece Davis (who I have to listen to Thursday)
I watched all of 9 minutes and turned it off.
But, I will be watching the Noles until double zeroes tomorrow night!
Is the she-man also calling the FSU/NC State game?
I heard her/him when I played back FSU's opener on the DVR.
Having three daughters, I am very much in favor of equal rights.
But, I don't like hearing a woman call a football game.
I know that's not PC, but I don't like it.
Maybe I'll turn down the sound tomorrow night, and find Gene Deckerhoff on my radio dial.
Good luck Nollies!

If you heard a woman call a game correctly, you would change your mind.
However, I haven't heard on on TV yet that I would say that about...yet.
I have heard a high school announcer that was a female call a game that any man would envy. I sure wish I knew where she was now......sigh.
I'm sure you are right.
But, that ESPN2 lady- she just irritates me for some reason. But, then again, so do a few male announcers.
It's hard to believe that the weekend is upon us, but it is.
Mental reminder for the future, when you have to get up at 3am do not stay up and watch the Noles play. Thursday night games have not been kind to us historically, and last night was not different. What happened in the second half? Oh well, I'm still happy with the season and the upside for the future.
Another weekend of college football. We are heading to Baton Rouge this afternoon for some great tailgating! Saturday's menu is calling for gumbo, and we are all looking forward to this game. We only hope that it stays close and interesting for four quarters. All good luck finally ran out against Auburn but still enjoyed the game. I guess when you just have to rely on luck to win a game it will eventually run out!! Still love our Tigers even though watching them can be hard sometime. Good luck to all this weekend and really loving this fall weather.
Love college football and WDW!
Whoa, I just saw this today. Looks like the NCAA is investigating possible recruitment violations for Cam Newton from Miss. State.
Sounds a little shady to me since the guy in question who was supposedly "representing" Newton played for Miss. State back in the 80's.
I sincerely hope this does not pan out, it would be very unfortunate.
Here is a quick excerpt and the article linked below that.
"During the 2009 football season, I was contacted by a former football teammate, who represented to me that he was speaking for the Newton camp. He told me that Cam Newton wanted to play at Mississippi State, but that a specified payment would have to be made. I reported the conversation to the Mississippi State Athletic Department. I was told by the Athletic Department that Mississippi State would not respond to the overture that was made to me, and that Mississippi State would continue to recruit Cam Newton as it does any other football recruit."

This is really about them investigating the agent who misrepresented himself as a former player of the NFL player's union. He has been disciplined today and stripped of his agent status for misrepresenting players during recruitment. It is not just this incident that got this agent in trouble. Like the agents that had the beach parties this summer with the players from Carolina, GA, S. Carolina, etc, very few times do the agents get in trouble. At first, it is always the players that get the brunt first. I am glad to see that the agent is getting his due as well. The NCAA asked Mr. Newton (Cam's father) to turn over financial records from his church (he is a pastor) and personal records and he did so a month ago without consulting a lawyer. The NCAA has known about this since January and has had credible evidence since July. ESPN.com broke this story so that they would have something to talk about during the Heisman race other than who was in the lead or not in the lead. IMHO of course
Auburn has received no official letter of inquiry from the NCAA on this or any other incident concerning C. Newton. He will play and this will be the talk of the town for a while. It is unfortunate because all it does is take away from someone who has been given a second chance and has done great things with the chance he has been given. Lots of people will twist and turn things, however, one thing still sticks in my mind and I will try to quote C. Newton's father the best I can... He said back when Cam signed to come to Auburn, "I don't want my son to be a rented mule at Mississippi State." No one really knew what that meant until now.

ETA: This was asked of me to post on Facebook. I thought it a very nice gesture of the fans who are attending the game. I sure wish I could be there, however, I am happy I am not freezing my flat butt off at Alumni Band this weekend!
"Message to everyone in the Auburn Family: At the end of the 1st Quarter during tomorrows game, everyone stand and sing "Lean on Me" to show support for Cam Newton and the rest of our team. Like this, post it as your status, and spread the word!"
AuburnJenn - the reference to "Lean on Me" didn't mean anything to me. I googled YouTube and found this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRaHUr7Npyo
Pretty cool . . .
When I did the youtube search, I was hoping to find a video of the fans singing the tribute. I hadn't realized it was a song that the team actually sang. Pretty cool. You found the correct link. "Lean on Me" is a song that the football players sing to foster bonding during the football season. I posted that because the fans were singing to the players and Cam to let them know the Auburn Family was behind Cam and the players during the controversy that was/is brewing with the agent and the recruiting crap. From what I heard from my Alumni Band friends who were at the game, it was quite moving. (and it was very, very cold)
I hope this helps you out a bit.
