WOOO HOOOO! My nephew got married at 8 tonight. at 10:45 I looked at my MIL, she looked at me, and we both said.. ITS TIME TO GO! Thank God they live five minutes away from the wedding! We walked in during the commercial break right before the race. Way to go Phelps and team USA!

(Don't worry, my nephew and his new bride had already left their own reception!)

We had so much fun last night watching that race! All of us were jumping up and down screaming.

MP is so gracious to his teammates. He never tries to keep the focus on himself and his accomplishments. In every interview I've ever seen of him, he has always acknowledged that he wouldn't have been able to do it without them. I'm very proud of the whole American team.

I also am really proud of Darra Torres!! What a competitor!!

Yeah, she did great. I was really hoping she could've won gold, but hey, a silver medal at 41 ain't bad at all.

Last night was great! I was screaming and so excited for MP and teared up when he went to hug his mom after getting his medal. Was thinking oh my gosh, how much has she done for him, how many swim meets did she go to, how many early mornings and late nights. And then he meets all his goals in such an amazing way and she gets to be there to see it. My niece turned to me and goes - What's the big deal?

Sigh.

Olympic swimming has been great to watch as well as other events. The NBC coverage leaves much to be desired, IMO, especially the west coast time delay. Our kids can't watch most of it. And, hate to say it, I'm really glad that I don't have to watch any more close-ups of Michael Phelps' mom. Enough already!
