UPDATE OF TRICK-OR-TREATING
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just wanted to update everyone about the T & T. So far we have 9 Staterooms confirmed to participate and 15 kids. There are a few that still haven't confirmed but said that they were going to participate earlier. We still have plenty of time for that. Also I am going to pm some of those that said they were going to be on the ship but didn't say if they wanted to participate in the T & T. I will keep you all informed as I update the list. There are a few ideas floating around my head about how we are going to do the T & T. I will post them soon and ask for feedback. Also regarding ages for the kids, I don't remember what Ginger had posted but I am going to limit it to ages 13 and under.(Please pm me or email me at alwatlers@aol.com if you have any concerns about this.) Hope to hear from all of you and those that have pm me I did receive them and have marked you all down.

Thanks for all your hard work on this, Judi! I know that all the children (and the grownups too!) will be so happy TorTing! If you need any help, just yell!

Thanks again! It's so exciting to make plans for the cruise even though it's in October!

If you would like your updates and information posted to the website I did for our cruise, you will need to e-mail any updates to me at info@magicaldisney.com. I do not always receive notices of replies to this thread, and rarely check the board if I am not notified of new posts.

Just a short 6 months or so away from our cruise, anyone planning on early arrivals?

I am pretty sure that we will be arriving 2 days before the cruise staying at the Radisson. I've read some of the stories on the board about things that have happened to other but we've had some great times there. Plus, the fact that we can park our Excursion there in the front of the hotel and they watch it for us for FREE. The 2 King bed suites are so roomy, I love tub in the bedroom. Our DD loves the pool and the gift shop were she can purchase her bobbing head turtles.
My DH Bill loves to go fishing, last year he enjoyed himself the day before the cruise by going out on deep sea fishing charter. He caught 3 sharks, 1 red snapper and some other fish too. If any of you are interested I can post the Charters information.

Hey everyone! Again it's been a while since I've last posted. I wanted to let you know that I had the baby on Feb 25th. Emily Nicole arrived at 12:19am weighing 7lbs 9ozs and 20 inches long with a FULL head of dark brown hair. If someone can tell me how to add a picture to my post, I will post one of her. Anyway, as you can guess she is taking up ALL of my free time these days, but we are happy as can be.

I still have not yet booked for halloween, I am trying to decide if I should use points or $$. Well, thats all for now. Have a great evening everyone.

I will mark Emily down as officially part of the t & t. I know she will be too young for the candy but I'm sure I can find some type of treat for baby emily.

Wendy- if you and your family would like to participate in our seperate T & T on the cruise, just drop me a line at alwatlers@aol.om. Let me know what room/cat. you are in and if your son will be participating. Also if your parents want to participate in handing out the treats they are more than welcome. We have a few adults participating by handing out treats.

Also I sent out some PM's so check yours and I know we have a few months till we sail, but I am trying to get an approx. count of children so others will know how many to plan for.

Thanks for the cooperation from everyone!

Dena we can't wait to finally meet Emily Nicole in person, so happy for you and your family.:Pinkbounc :bounce: By the way guess what I made yesterday, yeap! choc. covered strawberries, so yummy. Tell Michael I didn't need any extra oil this time. Ha! Ha!
Hurry up and book Dena, I changed my ressies yesterday from cash to points. Must be a new thing, they just transferred everything over to DVC so we still have the same stateroom and early dining reservations. Wonder if they will let us keep the onboard credit we got for booking onboard last year?????
I guess we should call the Radisson for our ressies soon also. Anyone else staying there this year before the cruise?????

Amanda we wish you all were cruising with us again this year.

Welcome Disneediva! You and your family are in for a wonderful time aboard the Magic for Halloween. This will be our 4th Halloween cruise on the Magic. As I am sure you have read here there are a few of us that cruise on Halloween every year. So if you have any questions fire away at us.

Just checking in and saying  to my pals!!!!! I will miss you all this year! Keep my ship clean for me okay???;)

Hi all,

I won't actually be sailing with you, but I will be sailing on the Wonder for Halloween. I've been reading through your wonderful thread and see you have many veteran Halloween sailors and some really great ideas.

I'm wondering if any of you Halloween vets have actually ever had the boat leave on Halloween day. Our actual sail date is the 31st and I'm wondering how in the world they are going to pull off a T and T with the 4 p.m. mandatory fire drill and many people not boarding until mid afternoon. I saw it was held on the Magic last year at 3 p.m. but I'm thinking there is no way that will happen on our cruise. Any thoughts?

I would love to set up a T and T similar to what you all are doing. I think that is a great idea for the kids! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm just getting started and haven't a clue what to do :earseek: I was thinking I might call DCL the week before we cruise and see if they could give me the time of their T & T. It would make picking a time easier.

thanks for any help or suggestions and have a great cruise!!! It looks like you have a great group of people.

Marley

Marley,
Last year the 31st fell on CC day. SO DCL did TOT on the 30th. I am not sure what they would do with your sailing since it would officially be November. Hmm maybe they will hold it the day after on the 1st?

Marley just my opinion but I think the best day for t-or-t would be your day at sea. In the past I found that having it before noon is the best time as long as everyone agrees to the time. The only reason we didn't have ours earlier last year was because of a timing conflict with the Grand Jack-Pot Bingo game.

Also remember on a day at sea Palo offers Champagne Brunch for adults only that gets started around 10:30 a.m. to 1:00p.m.. Also Character Breakfast 8:15 and 9:45 a.m.. Doesn't give you much time does it.
I would try for a 11:00 a.m. t-or-t, they usually take about 45 minutes to an hour from start to finish if you keep it organized. You may even have to go in 2 groups going in different directions. We had to do this last year starting 1 on one deck and the other on another deck to get it done in our time frame. Worked out well for us we had over 40 children participating with 26 staterooms to visit.
P.S. look out for tag alongs, strangers. It happened to us last year. Luckly it was only a 1 child family so she just blended in, no problems though.
Good Luck,

my husband says I am becoming addicted to this site ( which I agree with by the way) but it is filled with loads of info. Do they do any type of family costume contests or just one for the kids? We are leaving tomorrow to go Disney for our first anniversary seems to me the best place to celebrate!!!I cannot wait for October.

Hi Wendy, Happy Anniversary!!! I hope you have great weather and a wonderful time at Disney.

Only going by what DCL did last year, no they do not have a so called "family costume contest", but they did allow children to participate in the adults costume contest last year as long as they were part of a group theme. In fact last years winners were a family of chimney sweeps.
My husband and I were Jellyfish we made our DD a costume to go with ours but we were told by Guest Services earlier that day that it was for Adults only. I was a little upset when he and I went to register and saw so many family groups. Our DD was in the kids clubs we didn't have enough time to get her and put her in costume to join us. Know better this year though. Going back with those Jellyfish costumes again this year. Any other Jellyfish out there, you're welcomed to join us.

You were the jellyfish?! Oh! I remember watching the contest and my mum and I were saying how good those costumes were. I didn't realise it was you!

Yeap!!! that was us. Planning on using the same costumes again this year but adding a few new things to them, plus Ashley will be joining us.
