***Offical August 2025 Thread***

I posted this on another thread and got zero responses (ha)
We are staying deluxe near Epcot which has eh on Monday.
Would you aim for parade on Sunday and take full advantage of EH on Monday and likely scope out a spot in Frontierland to be at the end? Or would you try for the parade Monday aiming for main street for the start and then monorail to Epcot for a brief period of EH then head back to the hotel?
The only other evening during the week we could catch the parade potentially would be Wednesday and I don’t want to leave that as our only option.
I am leaning towards Sunday with the Monday fall back if there are weather issues Sunday.
We also have adr at via Napoli both nights so I will obviously cancel that whichever night we go to the parade. Epcot fireworks are not crazy important for us (will try to watch from our resort check in day) and we have fantasmic built in already with a later in the week weather fallback. MK fireworks do not need to be same night as parade.

What would you do August folks?

This is my husband and I's first solo trip. Going for our 25th anniversary. First solo vacation ever actually.

We started out on a budget. All Star Movies with free dining quick service (for convenience of it being already paid for mostly - we like knowing we only have to worry about spending money lol) and 4 day single park tickets. Then the add ons started lol. We upgraded to 4 day park hoppers. Then, 5 day park hoppers. Then, heck .. we wanted the option to come and go as we pleased while there lol. So, we upgraded to 7 day park hoppers. We figured this way, we didn't feel we were missing out if we wanted to go back to the resort to cool down mid-day.

Then, the dates came out for the Halloween Parties, so bought tickets for one of those days. We also bought tickets for After Hours for Hollywood Studios.

Then, we started thinking how we wanted to book Fantasmic dining. We did that a few years ago and really liked the seating area.. and well, it is our anniversary. How about a nice dinner on that day?

So, that lead that us upgrading to table service plan lol

We booked Be Our Guest, Steakhouse 71, 1900 Park Fare, and Hollywood and Vine (we just enjoy characters lol). Still trying to decide if we want to schedule more because I don't want us to be too planned out.

Yet, also want to book a dessert party hahaha!!

Oh my goodness!!

I think you have to go with your priority. Will you be more disappointed if you miss the parade or don't make it to EH when your vacation is done?

The parade is a priority for us so we are planning for it early in the week in case of rain plus we'll be there during MNSHP so we have to work around those days too.

It would be amazing if the parade works out for you on Sunday and then you can do EH on Monday. I have never been to EH in Epcot at night so I'm also not sure what you'd be missing out on if you didn't make it. So I'm not really sure if I'm any help. Sorry.

I'd focus on Sunday. You'll never make it to EP on Monday after the parade. We like to skip the EP fireworks on EH night and go over and ride GG and this year TT

I requested physical tickets for the Halloween party (yes, I know they are in MDE but I like having the cards & it doesn't cost extra to do so). They came in today. I thought I had read when I bought them they would not be shipped out sometime in early July so I was surprised when they showed up today. We got Mickey & Woody as the characters. I wish they would make them a little more Halloween themed for these tickets but they don't.

Joining in on the conversation regarding how many ADR's to book. We booked a lot! We have 10 full park days and two that are only going in at the time we can enter with After Hours. We are rope drop to closing it down people, so we use our ADR's as our "break". We take our time eating and take advantage of the long break in the AC. When we have a ADR we tend not to eat another real meal and allows us to try more snacks throughout the day.

We got tired of fighting the crowds for fireworks so we started doing the dessert parties to avoid that and again it is a way for us to remain in the park but sit for a long period of time and just take in the atmosphere.

Just saw Buzz Lightyear will be closed starting August 4. Bummer! I knew it was going to be in August but I hadn't seen a date yet. This was one of my DH's rides he wanted to do. I guess not! At least there is Toy Story Mania in HS and that is similar.

I agree with the parade on Sunday plan. As others said there’s no way you’re making it over to Epcot in time, and you won’t be able to fully enjoy the parade imo.

I don’t rate Epcot EEH very highly though FWIW, and never have. Even when it was still on VQ, I have only ever really seen it as another chance to ride Cosmic Rewind (which tbf is my favorite ride). That’s what I’m doing on Labor Day.

I tend not to pack in a ton of ADRs on my solo trips and this one is no exception. I struck out on Geo-82 for my trip next week so I’m going to try again for August. But I tend to hit lounges a lot when I’m solo, just because those trips are a lot more loosey goosey in nature. I basically know what park I’ll start my day at. I do have Bourbon Steak booked because I’ll be at the Swan and I have a resort credit from Amex. And I’m going to see about breakfast at Cake Bake since I really loved it last month. Other than that kind of unsure. Also tbh it’s so hot that a lot of times I don’t feel like eating a ton of food.

Spaceship Earth is also going down for a refurb on 8/25. I have both on my must do list for next weekend now.

we're at 51 days until we check in! booked about a month or so ago. we weren't planning on going this year as we were planning on moving, but that didn't happen...sooo...back to our annual trip for the last week of august! we're heading out a few days earlier than usual and we're excited about the water park day! also excited to stay in pop. we're usually all stars people.
we'll be checking in 8/22 and checking out 8/30. we're also actually doing 2 mnsshp this year....the 24 and the 26 and we're getting hoppers for the first time with our kids, dh and i got them all the time when it was just the 2 of us.
super bummed to hear spaceship earth is closing for refurb. we had planned the 25 to be our first day in the parks. also bummed thunder mountain is still closed :( and buzz too right? so i'm glad we got the hoppers so we can move around and take our time

DH is bummed about spaceship earth. That's one of his favorites. We are going to make sure we make it on the 24th. That's our first park day. Bummed about Big Thunder, too! Yes Buzz will be closed. But I am excited to see Tiana's and Test Track 3.0. Oh also excited for the Villians show, night time parade... so many fun things this trip!

We love park hopping!

We haven't hopped in years but are this year since we are back staying at the BW and are very much looking forward to it.

A heads-up that Swan is only $170 for our date (Aug 19). Doesn’t work for us this trip, but hope someone else can take advantage of walking to HS and Epcot.

Swan and Dolphin have excellent rates this time of year. I think it's due to the lack of conventions. I got a steal of a rate through Amex for my Labor Day weekend dates.

I decided to add a day onto my trip and come in on 8/27 and turns out there was AP rate availability for TPV for only slightly more so I upgraded from water view at CR! So happy to finally get to see that view.

Received a call from Disney this morning with a little pixie dust. Was upgraded to a Lion King suite at AOA for our 1st night. We originally had a reservation at AS Movies. It's just for the first night before we move to POP but yay...I'm excited!

We got pixie dusted from AS Sports to CSR. 😀

Yay! Love Pixie dust (or Magic Moments as some refer to it)! Plus I got to listen to Haunted Mansion music while on hold which got me even more excited for our trip lol!
