I forgot how good Tamyra was. She was so much better than some of the other idol contestants in the past.

Both Fantasia and Diana are so good, I think it will be close!

Last year's final two were incredible singers, this years don't even come close.

Robin - I couldn't have said it any better. Fantasia and Diana can sing, but neither of them have managed to connect to me or, more importantly, to my wallet. Of all the finalists this season, only George Huff made that connection with me. There's something about him that just makes me feel good.

I have grown to connect with Diana. The person I truly connected with is LaToya even though she seems to be lacking some personality, it's the way she sings and how she sings it move me. We don't know much about her cause she is very reserved, but that's what's intruguing me, she is kind of mysterious.

this is the 1st season i've ever watched. when was tamayra on before? the 2nd song she sang was better than anything i've ever heard the kelly girl sing. did she lose to kelly?????

I haven't seen anyone comment on the Australian Idol. I thought he was awful!!! I was cringing throughout his song.

Yeah - I HATE the kind of singing that Australian was doing! ugh!

Does anyone else think that Tamyra looked like a singing skelton? That girl needs some serious food!

I did too. He reminded me of Richard Simons.

Randy, Paula & Simon were on Howard Stern this am. (They took the red eye after the show last night.)

They all commented on how **good** the Australian guy was...... How can I "believe" what they say about our contestents now.......

I wasn't impressed with the Australian Idol either. I mean, he was OK, but as Randy would say "I just wasn't feelin' it".

I think Diana has a great country cross-over voice and probably appeals to a greater number of people. My DD and I thought LaToya had the best voice but because she is reserved, she seemed a lot older. That's probably why she didn't impress the teen crowd as much. Neither of us care for Fantasia's voice although it is clear that she will do well in the future. I think Diana has more potential for being molded but Fantasia already has her style down.

i was happy they were on stern! he asks about stuff i want to know:

1. why do only fat/unattractive people win american idiol?
(Simon said because America choses the person they think needs the most help. Simon agreed with Howard that Diana needs to lose at least 25 lbs. and that Fantasia is built like a linebacker and that Kelly is huge.)

2. what's up with paula's thumb?
(she talked about the manicure she got and how it ended in surgery. )

3. wouldn't it have been funny if the hawaiian girl that can't sing won the whole thing?
(the judges said "NO!" it would not have been funny at all and that it would have been terrible for them!!)

4. what does simon really whisper in paula's ear?
(she said last night he told her that fantasia looks like fred flintstone!!)

You know - they act like they were born attactive. I remember years ago when a certain Paula Abdul was very hippy and had rather large thighs when she was first starting out.

Simon - have you seen how much this guy spends on his appearance? This guy has more money than God. And yet, he's still not attractive.

I think all these kids are attractive.

That's just cruel to say that Kelly is huge. She is not! She's normal!

Diana is so young, she probably still has baby fat around the middle area.

Fantasia is built like most normal healthy African American woman. good muscle tone. I wish I had her arms.

Ok, so now it's down to two...and arguably they're the two best (you could throw LaToya and George in there as probably the 4 most talented). At least we won't have to listen to "Jasmine the flat" anymore

So...with all this talk about revious winners and last year's top two, it got me wondering....How would you rate the top twos from the first three seasons ? Here is how I would do it:

They trashed the females, but said nothing about Ruben's weight??? Freaking hypocrites. And what about Simon - he looks like he could stand to lose some poundage himself before he comments on other people's looks.

Argh - but what should I expect from a Howard Stern interview anyway? Did he ask Paula to take off her top for him?

Calm down people, you are all oddly taking the whole weight thing personally as if you know these people

I just reported VERY BRIEFLY and somewhat out of context what they talked about on Stern.

Paula totally talked about her eating disorder. She's never hidden that. She says she doesn't care about how big the idols are. But she admits that eats healthy and excercises often now. She does her best to be healthy.

They DID talk about Reuben's weight. The discussion was why have the previous winners been heavy/unattractive. I beleive Reuben is a previous winner??

What they continued to discuss was that a no-talent like Britney Spears sells a lot of records becuase she realized her image is part of the equation. It's a "total package". Whereas Kelly blew up right after winning and Diana is kind of chubby.

There is nothing wrong with what they were talking about. That is way the entertainment industry is. Anyone who is seriously considering being in such a fickle industry should realize they are going to be picked apart on their appearance. Is it right? NO! Do I agree with it? NO! But that's why I'm not up there....

I too believe Fantasia's body is fine. The girl has a kid. But Diana is only 16....there is nothing wrong with saying maybe she needs to exercise. America is the most unhealthy overweight country of all. What's wrong with admitting that??????

i'm not assuming anything. again, i am just saying that i don't think what the judges were discussing was way off base or cruel at all. saying that someone could use exercise is not out of line with what our doctors tell us.
