Ok, now I have to know, what is the "twinkie defense"? :confused3

You can read about it here: http://www.ohnonews.com/twinkie.html

Basically a man used the fact that he was depressed to get a murder charge reduced. He "proved" he was depressed by stating that he ate Twinkies and drank lots of Coke during that time, and as an ex-athlete, it was not normal behavior. Absolutely insane, but it worked

JamesLynn, I don't think you were supposed to literally defy gravity like in your sig! Bumps and bruises aside- are you okay? :earseek:

I'm fine, just really sore today. My entire left side hurts. I can't lift my arm really high.

Feeling any better today???

And to keep this post entirely OT.....has anyone ever bought a puppy online? Totally sight unseen that gets sent via airplane to your town? :rotfl: Am I crazy for considering it?! (Yeah, I know, I am just plain crazy!)

Well, I haven't actually bought a puppy online, but have talked a lot to a breeder online. I have learned a lot from this breeder and will share what I have learned. You should make sure you get to know the breeder...ask a lot of questions and be comfortable with their answers. The breeder should also be asking you a lot of questions--you want this because you want to know that they care what happens to the pup and that it is going to a good home and an appropriate home. You will want a contract to be in place. Some breeders (like the one I am in contact with) will not send a puppy in cargo. If I buy a puppy from her I have to fly to Florida and get the puppy. She feels riding in a cold, dark, noisy, unknown place like a cargo hold is too much for a puppy's first time away from its mother. Not all breeders feel this way obviously. You just want to make sure you are not getting a puppy from a puppy mill or someone who does not know enough about the breed to breed the dogs properly. :dog: :pug: :dog2: :paw:

That's my 2 cents... :)

I often wonder about the country of Germany. I am sure it has happened many times by now, but if a person from frankfurt marries a person from hamburg what happens?

I mean if your mother is a frankfurter and your father is a hamburger, then what are you?

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

POP!Here I am again!

OK I want a home for completely off-topic randomness. Maybe what you had for dinner, or what your dog dragged in.

Yeah, yeah, I know there's a Community Board, but they scare me. And I'm temporarily avoiding the DVC CB for a little bit. This thread will probably deserve to be moved or locked, but...

======

I got this by email today, and for some reason found a lot of it funny. Anyone else, or do I need to be locked up?
They scare me too! And how does this lock in with a place to ramble?

Don't get me wrong, I received my dog, sight unseen, as a gift from my boyfriend's parents and I love her more than I ever thought I could love a dog, BUT please consider getting a dog from a shelter!!! There are so many great dogs out there that just need a good person with some faith to give them a good home! My friends have two chihuahua mixes from the pound that are just great dogs who would not have had such a good life if they weren't taken in! Please, please, please consider a pound puppy!

We've been looking at the shelter's in my area, and all they have are large dogs....which my DS6 are absolutely terrified of. I don't want anything large either. Plus, with DS allergies, breeds are limited. So, we've been checking the shelters and if one appears that that we like, we will go see it, if not we have to look elsewhere.

We did that too... we had a check list:
Male Dog (heard that the don't kill the lawn as bad :confused3 )
Short hair (one that doesn't shed)
Not a 'hyper' breed

then we went shopping and ended up with:
A FEMALE dog with VERY LONG hair that SHEDS year round. Oh, and she is VERY HYPER .
But, we love her :)
Good luck!! :teeth:
:dog2:

Oh Queen, Fletcher is so cute :dog: ! I believe Fletcher fly. I believe he can touch the sky, think about it every night and day. Spreads his ears and flies away! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

THANK YOU! strapping a tiny parachute on him now......we'll start up on the roof......wish us luck! err, him....I'll just watch :) hee!

well...good news is......Fletch will be just fine....a month or so, he'll be back on his feet......just an FYI........dogs don't know anything about ripcords.

Have you ever had that talk with Fletcher about opposable thumbs? The moment might have passed...
