Hi Joan1
My name is also Joan. You can try mytravelboard.com. It has a Hawaii board. I've used it before when I went to Cancun. It was great and I was addicted to it for a while, but nothing like I am to the Dis boards. My family thinks I need to get a life. Hope this will help.

Good question! Gonna stay tuned to answers on this.

We're planning a Hawaii trip for April 2007. Tentative plan is to fly into Oahu (from Buffalo, NY) for 3 nights, then hop to the Hilton Waikoloa resort on the Big Island for 6 nights (free via Hilton Hhonors points), then hop to Maui for a 7 night Cruise on Norwegian's Pride of Aloha (mostly paid with points from Norwegia's Mastercard) before returning out of Maui back to Buffalo.

Started researching Hawaii last week, even with free lodging for 6 nights, and a mostly free cruise, it still looks like it will be a VERY expensive trip.

We went on the Pride of Aloha for our 35th anniversary in 2004. It was wonderful. We got such a great preview of hawaii. We rented a car at every port except for one day in Lanai when we did a helicopter tour (awesome!!!, worth every penny). There are hawaii boards on cruisecritic.com http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62.

konaweb (can't post link but add . and com to konaweb and you'll have it) for Kailua-Kona and dryside Hawaii island. It's not as big a site as this, but it's helpful. Chat boards are for both visiting and moving there. We used it extensively before moving there ourselves. Just know that some posters have a bias in your receiving their "opinions" cause they are in real estate, tourism, etc but most are just folks who live there or travel there lots.
