Off to see the "Real Tree" - April 19th - April 26th! Ali's Wish Trip PTR!

:hug::hug::hug::hug: Lynn :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Your Awesome.. what amazing Big Give goodies...

"Lynn also included lanyards with trading pins and personalized notes for each girl! I wasn't going to get into the pins, but Lynn inspired me to buy a lot of 40 off Ebay."
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That totally sounds like something I would do. LOL

I have to say, my son & I are major pin traders...I collect some Figment and Stitch (hence why I had some cool Stitch ones), and my son collects Donald and whatever strikes his fancy when we are there. Before we go, I always hit ebay for traders...I warn you Kelly, it is totally addicting!:rotfl2: But, it is FUN! (editing to note we are not pin "sharks", but I have been know to finish out collections after a trip by shopping ebay...)

Lynn

I've been debating about the pin trading, and wondering if I could convince the kids to "share" the pins and pin trading process. I don't think I can afford to get them all started, so we'll see if we jump on this bandwagon, or save it for another trip!

Looks like the girls have received a lot of great things!:cool1:

19 days!! :yay:

Just wanted to say hello! I am subscribing to your PTR. I am loving reading all of these reports. Your girls are just beautiful, and all of the big give gifts are amazing. Looking forward to hearing more!

19 days!!

Hey there! Thanks so much!:goodvibes We actually got the pins today, and I don't know who'll be more excited, the grown-ups or the kids.:rotfl2: We made out pretty well. I think I paid $41 for 40 pins and that included shipping. I'll post pictures of them after the girls find them in their Easter baskets!

Kelly, if it makes you feel any better, I'm also so not even at a place where I can start getting ready. We're flying out 4/17. But I'm famous for putting things together at the last minute, so I truly think we'll be fine. Like you, I think I can start planning on 4/5 (day hospital this week; 9 year old's birthday on 4/3; Easter (hosting I think) on 4/4; soccer and lacrosse seasons starting...).

But the last time we went to WDW (before Elke was born), I threw together a great trip with 2 1/2 weeks notice (and we stayed at AKL). Even got a CRT breakfast ressie from a cancellation when we were down there. So I'm not that stressed. Well okay, I'm stressed, but really trying not to be!

After 4/5, when I have time to do my itinerary, I'll let you know what we're doing that week.

Hope we can meet up!

I think I'm more stressed about everything I need to do here before we can leave than what will happen once we arrive there. KWIM? I just feel like I have so much to do. But you're right - no matter what, it will be an amazing trip! We absolutely will need to meet up. As it gets closer, I'll post our "final" itinerary. I hope that Elke's hospital day went well:hug: and happy 10th birthday to your other little one!

Cute give!!! Lynn is amazing! It seems like I see her name on every single PTR.

Yay for more "meets"!

Seriously! I know I've said this before, but I'm just floored by the thoughtfulness of everyone involved in the Big Give.
Hi Kelly!

You know I've been busy "elsewhere" for a while :rolleyes1 and am just catching up with the Dis after a long time. I loved the post after post of Big Give packages. How exciting for the girls (and you! and me ;))! I would kill for the sewing talent of those ladies.

Hey Erika! I know, things have been nutty! We are all excited. One of these days, I'll have to bring my camera with us to the mailbox. We always place bets on "key or no key," because the mailman leaves a key in our box to the bigger box that holds packages. So if he leaves a key, there's a package. If there's no key, there's no package. The girls are hysterical. I hear you on the sewing. I wish!

Lots of great Big Give things:cool1:
Thanks!

I can't remember the last time I bought something off of Ebay, but thanks, Lynn, for the inspiration!:worship::rotfl2:

Lynn

I can see how it could be addicting. Our pins arrived today, and it was so fun going through them all! I can't wait!

Love the pics of the girls...
I am loving all the pixie dust!

Hey there! Thanks!:goodvibes

More BIG GIVEShave arrived! I wish you all could have heard the girls screaming in the car as I was pulling them out of the mailbox.:rotfl2:

The first one actually arrived yesterday, but I didn't get a chance to get on last night to put the pictures up. The girls received some adorable Minnie Mouse dresses from Wendy (BillWendy), and Garth and I received coordinating t-shirts!

The girls have finally learned not to tear through everything and instead actually look for names.:rolleyes1

Ali caught on before Maya as to what was hidden within the tissue paper.

She loves that it has her name on the front.

And Maya's back for more posing.:rotfl2: Notice the bow in her hair (Ali has one too).

Wendy included coordinating headbands...

and a Minnie Mouse barrette.

And finally, Wendy even included coordinating t-shirts for Garth, me, and the grandparents!

I promise to take grownup pictures when the grandparents are here on Sunday. Thank you so much, Wendy, and I hope to run into you when you're down there for your nephew's wish trip!:goodvibes

I have been following along reading your PTR, but I don't think I have posted before.

I can't get over how absolutely adorable your girls are! I love all the big give stuff you have gotten. I hope you all have an amazing wish trip!

Your girls are SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!! :lovestruc:lovestruc

What awesome gifts!!!

YAY BIG GIVE!! :cheer2: Big talent with Big Hearts!!!

Three more BIG GIVE packages came today!:banana:

First, I need to apologize, though. Ali was NOT having a good day, and actually has spent most of her time this afternoon like this:
AliCouch.jpg

You can see in her eyes just how "off" she is feeling.

At any rate, the first package was from C. Robinson (sorry I don't have your Dis name!) and was an adorable Lilo dress!
Ali2-1.jpg

AliLilo.jpg

I tried to get her to try it on, but that just wasn't happening.:sad2:

The next package was from Mona (WDWAtLast) and included an Animal Kingdom dress for each girl. Maya actually read the card from beginning to end, all by herself!
MayaReading.jpg

Again, Ali just wasn't up for trying it on.
AKDresses.jpg

But Maya was ready to go!:rotfl2:
MayaAKDress.jpg

Thank you, Mona! Both girls LOVED their dresses.

The third package of the day was full of pixie dust from the Thompson Family! The girls have finally figured out that you all have figured it out - Ali likes Tink and Stitch, and Maya likes princesses.
PixieDust.jpg

Ali was done at this point, so I don't have many pictures of her. But, here's a picture of everything that was in the package - so, so generous!
pixiedust2.jpg

She also included personalized pillowcases for each of the girls. Ali's had her name and fairies, and Maya's had her name and Ariel. Maya said to me, "Oh my gosh, mom, I think someone actually made this!":rotfl2:
MayaPillowcase.jpg

And here's Ali, where she's spent the entire afternoon.

Thank you so much, Thompson Family, and again, I'm sorry I don't have better pictures.

Okay, I need to go tend to my little weary one. I know I have catching up to do with other PTR/TRs, but I'm not sure it's going to happen tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed that she's not coming down with something. Thanks again to everyone for bringing a little sunshine to New England, where it's done nothing but rain lately!

Okay, I'm trying to fix the pictures so they're not just red x's. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I'm using photobucket...

Oh My GOSH! THey look soooooo ADORABLE with a capitol A!!!!!! THe little clippie looks soooo cute in Ali's hair - I wasnt sure if she did headbands, thats why I sent that as well!! lol!!

Isnt the Big GIve AWESOME? We are definately hoping to be there for a while on Sunday and then again for Christmas on Thursday night. How about you guys? Have a WONDERFUL TIME!!!

Absolutely cute!!!! All of it- the dresses, the pixie dust. the kiddos in dresses and even the shirts for the adults- Too CUTE!!! :cutie:

You guys are going to have enough stuff to pack just from the Big Give! Hope you got extra suitcases and that your luggage fees are free! :lmao:

Have a happy Easter if I don't happen to be on here again until then! We have many Easter activities planned, especially since Davy just figured out that the eggs have loot inside them! :rotfl2: He carries you the egg and laughs like silly when you open it and give him the yummy treat inside! Thank goodness I bought some with fruit snacks inside- the healthy ones even...

What is it about Minnie's colors that look adorable on every little girl?
The AK dress(es) (I can only see one pic) is adorable. I love that they are so bright and cheery. How cute that they realize people know what they like. Pillowcases, too cute. And how timely for Ali to veg out with for the day. I hope it's a temporary funk, and nothing serious!

Oh, pics, um, I think that happened to me once and the problem was something to do with the sizing. Make sure they didn't accidentally get moved to a different album. Hmmm, not sure. Sorry...

Oh my goodness, those dresses are just adorable.

I sure hope Ali is feeling better today! She sure looked like she was having a rough day yesterday.

I am so glad the dresses arrived safely! I was blessed to be able to help with Ali's Big Give! I hope that she is feeling better soon!!!

Per usual those dresses are adorable!

Now they just need to make a couple for you and grandma :rotfl2:

Hello there! And thank you! The Big Give folks have all been so incredibly generous. We are truly blessed.:goodvibes

She actually loved the headband, but was having a hard time getting it to stay on her head. I'm thinking we'll have to give it another go around and see what we can do. The Big Give is awesome. I've shared a lot of it with my students with the lesson that we do as individuals have the ability to impact those around us, and isn't doing something like this much better than calling each other out on Facebook and MySpace? We are absolutely planning on being there for Christmas, but we won't be there yet on Sunday. Hopefully we will run into each other! Have a fabulous trip if I don't "see" you before then!

Cute dresses!! Sweet sweet Ali bless her heart. She sure didn't feel good did she:( The girls look as pretty as ever!
Thank you! No, it's been a rough couple of days, though I'm not quite sure why.:sad2: I've been running extra fluids in hopes that it will help, which it seems to have a little bit, but not much. Hopefully she'll take a good long nap today, and wake up a new person!

We are lucky - our luggage is free!:rotfl2: Right back at you - have a fabulous Easter holiday. It sounds like it will be an extra fun year with Davy the age that he is. We used to do fruit snacks and teddy grahms in the eggs when the girls were little, but we've since graduated to chocolate and loose change.:rotfl2: Have a great weekend!

I *think* I finally figured out the whole photobucket issue and you should be able to see all the pictures now. I don't know what was the problem, but I changed how I linked them up, and it seemed to have worked.:confused3 I did get your email, and it sounds good! You're almost at the 2 week mark, or is today 14 days?!

Oh my goodness, those dresses are just adorable.

I sure hope Ali is feeling better today! She sure looked like she was having a rough day yesterday.
Thank you!:goodvibes

I am so glad the dresses arrived safely! I was blessed to be able to help with Ali's Big Give! I hope that she is feeling better soon!!!
Thank you so, so much.:lovestruc I did get the other pictures to work so that you can see them, and I'm hopeful that I can get some pictures of both girls in them this weekend.

Per usual those dresses are adorable!

Now they just need to make a couple for you and grandma :rotfl2:
Thank you! And whose to say that grandma and I don't have dresses to match?:rotfl2:

Okay, so I think I have fixed the photobucket problem. Unfortunately, I haven't quite fixed the Ali problem. I have been running fluids at night, which I usually don't because of the aspiration risk, but it seems to have helped a bit. At least until last night when I "fed the bed.":headache: For those who don't have tube feeders, it basically means that instead of Pedialyte going in through the tube, the Pedialyte and everything that happened to be in her stomach already ended up all over her bed and her.:scared1: So now we need to start from scratch. Grrr.

And I do realize that I still have catching up to do with other PTRs and TRs - I'm sorry I haven't been around to post! Our term closes on Monday morning at 7am sharp and we also happen to be hosting Easter, so I need to get the rest of my grading done before the weekend gets away from me. Things will calm down for me on Monday, though, and I can't wait to "see" all of you then! I miss my Dis friends!:rotfl2:

No problem. Some weeks are busier than others. My house was a disaster last week when Phoebe was off. Hope you have a great weekend!
