I'm going to a benefit tonight -lots of food and wine (lucky for me it's not a silent auction, or I'd be in trouble again ) Mario Batali will be there cooking......Glad I ate a light lunch

It was great! This is a United way Benefit we go to every year. He prepared a venison dish with a delicious sweet potato compote. My picture ended up being on the front page of the paper (that's what i get for having the photographer recognize me )

Awesome! I wish I could have gone, one day I'm going to one of his restaurant. I love his show....Italian food is the best

We've been to both of his restaurants in NYC: Po and Babbo. Po has since been bought by someone else, but when we went there several years ago, he was there cooking. It was my dd's birthday and we asked the waiter if we could meet him and take his picture with our kids. He took us right into the kitchen and there he was cooking He was sooooo gracious and downright cool--asked us what we ate, how we liked it etc. and chatted for quite awhile before taking the picture. The food was excellent at both places. Babbo was a bit upscale and the prices higher, but both had excellent food!
