WHAT ELSE IS NEW??!?!?!?!?
Hi all...
With the holiday season among us I have fell into a rut...My BF has done some amazing BF type things. We have had some major obsticals come upon us...not with our relationship but other things that infulence things and people in our lives...I want to do something great for him...I know the holidays are coming up and shortly there after our 3 year anniversary (or as I commonly refer to it for you hockey lovers out there-the hat trick anniversary)
Anyone have any ideas-romantic or otherwise. He has really gone above and beyond "the call of duty" as it were. And I know "gifts" or material things can tell or say how much everything he has done has ment to me...he's done laundry-kept the house in working order-cooked-cleaned-listened-taught-cried with-cared for-hugged- and loved me...I just want to do something to show my appreciation...I know down the road I will do many of the same things for him...and I know that will be payment enough...but I thought a gift from the heart would be nice too...
Any ideas? Thank you.

Hmm...I know I'm not much help, but just wanted to say congrats from another hockey fan!

This is what I would Love, from my wife, in a situation like yours.

Simple but effective:

A hotel room, with a two-person jacuzzi. Costs about 160 for one night. Doesn't have to be far away. Could be right around the corner.

Dinner a movie and then back to the room.

A backrub, then its all up to you.

Babysitting an issue?

No one says you have to stay all night.

This is just my two cents, and I don't mean to be tawdry or anything, but know I would love it.

Jim

PS: take the voice of Experience: DO NOT PUT 1/2 a bottle of bubble bath in the jacuzzi!

And what "voice of experience" happens whenyou put 1/2 a bottle of buble bath in a jacuzzi? :teeth:

Suzanne:

OHMIGOD you have never seen so many bubbles.

Now, this was a big jacuzzi, and a little bublle bath did not do much good. So.....MORE BUBBLE BATH.

It was about 4 feet High.

We had to turn on the shower, open the drains, and get towels to try to "put out" the bubbles.

It was one of the funniest experiences you can imagine.

:earseek:

PS: I love your new pictures.

thats an idea...he likes jacuzzis...for giggles we would put 1/2 a bottle of bubbles in it-why b/c he's a boy and was told not to :)
I don't know...*throwing my hands in the air* with everything going on...I have class until Dec 18 and then our Disney trip in Jan. Our anniversary is in March....so it might work but knowing him he won't want to spend the $$$ *laugh* it doesnt matter to me!!! -the $$ that is...

I second the advise on bubble bath in the jacuzzi. I also think that time away from the home where you are giving him your full attention is a wonderful way to show how much everything he has done for you means.

The 12 days of Christmas approach is what I did early in our marriage. Basically, find things that are not expensive that are either part of you hubby's hobbies, or cute little things that have meaning to you, (ex. golf balls, chap stick, favorite candy, etc.) and give them to him over 12 nights. The chap stick is because my DH can't seem to live without them, so I gave him 12 on the 12th day! He used them all up within 6 months.

Anyway, it's one of those things that take a lot of thought and really show that you know what's special to him.

Good luck!

How about making a coupon book, that he can cash in a coupon when ever he wants.

Example:

This coupon is good for one favorite meal home cooked by me.

This coupon is good for one back rub.

This coupon is good for a foot rub.

This coupon is good for seeing the movie of your choice.

This coupon is good for one night out with your friends. (Alone, just the guys).

I would suggest the things that make memories - thoughtfulness and pampering. Material things come and go and you often forget about them, but something with thought like a gift of time, never seem to be forgotten.
