Decided to stay off-site rather than on. Can get a great price on the Fairfield Inn at Marriott Disney Village BUT my daughters in-laws still want to shop for something cheaper (less than $70 a night). Personally I have no objection to that - more money to spend on other things - BUT there's a two-year old going on this trip and we need TOP quality, squeaky clean conditions and preferably a hotel with a kiddie pool and playground.. Can anyone who has just returned - or been down there in the past 6 to 12 months tell me what is available? The newer the better.. Have heard from some on this board that many of the chain hotels (Days Inn, Red Roof, Quality Inn, Howard Johnson's, etc.) have been old and dirty.. Would like to finalize this trip and book THIS week (for a trip in September) so please help with any reviews you can offer.. Thanks a bunch!!! C.Ann

I don't know when you are planning on being down there, but when we were there in December 2000, we stayed at the Comfort Suites Maingate East. This hotel is about 1 yr old and is located about 5 minutes from Disney. It has suites, 2 Queen beds and a pull out sofa, microwave, fridge, etc. They also have complimentary deluxe continental breakfast which has hot & cold entries, and shuttle service to all the Disney parks, Universal and Sea World. Above all, this place was spotless. Hope this helps.
