We are planning on renting a house or condo in Windsor Hills for our first off site stay later this year. We're actually going to be leaving to drive down on Thanksgiving night, and get there late on Friday. (If I had thought about it more I probably would've had DH pick a different week of vacation but I wanted to be IN Disney on my 30th birthday which is in the middle of the week...) We're just starting to plan our days out for the trip. When we get there on Friday evening, what is close to Windsor Hills that is takeout/fast food like that we could grab on our way to eat? After being in the car all day we decided we don't want to do a sit down restaurant, we just want to check in and relax.

For off site meals, we are looking at Cheesecake Factory, Steak n Shake, and Red Robin. We live in the middle of nowhere so to most of you that probably doesn't sound exciting but for us it is. Are they close enough to Windsor Hills? The Red Robin I just looked up on Google Maps and it says Winter Garden, FL at about 30 minutes away, is that right?

Any restaurants/chains or local that are pretty close to Windsor Hills that we should consider?

I don't think any of those are very close but these are a few off the top of my head that are within 1 - 7 min:
Black Angus Steakhouse
Denny's, I HOP, Perkins, Bob Evans, McD, Wendy's, Burger King etc
Ponderosa, Shoney's, Sizzler, Golden Corral, Taco Bell, CiCi's Pizza
Red Lobster, Bonefish Grill, Crackerbarrel, TGI Friday's, Giordanos, Carabbas,
Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Texas Roadhouse, Millers Ale House, Houlihans,
Applebees, Sweet Tomatoes, Joes Crab Shack, Longhorn Steakhouse,
Outback Steakhouse and many, many others.

Thanks! I think we might have to reconsider the three we picked out. Red Robin we can do on our way there or home :thumbsup2

We have stayed at WH a few times, on our last trip the Ale a House was our favourite, we went about 5 times! (we were there 3 weeks though).

I think the drive to the Cheesecake Factory is worth it, you can also do some shopping at the mall :thumbsup2

On arrival you will get some information from the security guards. On there they recommend Bruno's Italian Restaurant who do deliver to WH, we have had Giordanno,s deliver pizza too. On our arrival this time we called at the Publix at Celebration and picked up some shopping and our tea from there.

Have a good time :)

I don't remember the name of it but there is a great little independant pizza place in the same plaza as Target just up the street from WH on 192. We usually end up getting takeout from there our first night when we go

In all honesty, just about any chain resteraunt you can think of is along 192 and within less than a 10 or 15 minute drive from WH. When you get to the intersection of 192 and the road Windsor Hills is on take a right down 192 instead of a left and go under the I-4 bridge. There seems to be alot more resteraunts on the east side of 192.

I think that's Flippers pizza in the Target plaza. We always eat at Sweet Tomatoes our first night and get our shopping done at Super Target.
There's so,so many places nearby to eat! All are located right on W Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee

looks like some potential good places. Thanks for the heads up people.

We ate at Sweet Tomatoes last year and really enjoyed it.

Another option is the Applebee's, you could do Curbside To Go if you want to bring your meal back to WH.

Virtually every chain restaurant known to man is within a 10 minute (or less) drive from WH.

I always recommend giordano's pizza --- which is a chain, but not a very big one and very near WH.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Applebees is about the only chain restaurant we have where we live (that and Ruby Tuesdays) so we definitely don't want to eat there on vacation. I'll have to look up some of the other chains and see which ones do 'to go' besides Applebees. Great idea!

We really enjoyed the Golden Corral when we were there last time. It was nice to walk right in and eat after a day in the parks without any wait. I hope it's still there :)

There is also a Chick Fil A very close by. I also recall seeing a Chevy's.

DH always wants to go to Logan's Roadhouse - it's just a steakhouse chain, but we don't any have up this way. Their food is always good, quite a few choices besides steaks, and very reasonably priced.
And he can get a couple of beers, because I do all the Disney Driving :rotfl2:

It's on the front left corner of 192 and I Drive, just beyond the Publix (going east on 192) I think there's one closer to WH, on the west end of 192 (west of Sherberth Rd) but never been there.

Love Flippers! And we're picky about pizza an such as we're from PA ;)

Do you mean Miller's Ale house on 192 near ST? We keep wanting to try it but never get there! It's on my list for our trip in 2 weeks :cool1:

We've been here since last Friday and while we've eaten mostly at the parks, we did enjoy:

Flippers delivery twice (pizza/breadsticks one night, subs and salads another). Pizza is really good, but their breadsticks are amazing. The subs and salads were just ok. We always do online ordering.

Outback curbside delivery to go - same as any other Outback, but I must say they did a good job with the "to go" and they offer online ordering. (note the trend here :) )

Bob Evans - this is somewhere I would never choose to go eat for some reason, but the times I have it has always been good. We did online ordering (surprise!) and picked it up. It was FABULOUS and CHEAP. Great option if you don't want to go out, but don't want to cook at the house/condo at WH!

Chuys also offers curbside to go, but we eat there at home all the time so skipped it.

Bob Evans is our go to place if we are low on $$ when we're down there. Everyone in my family likes their food and like you said it is CHEAP! :thumbsup2

We just rented our WH condo for July. On a budget so also looking for coupons/deals for places to eat nearby. Any tips appreciated!
