I know this has been discussed numerous times so sorry:confused3 I am wanting to go to Dl this summer end of July and I have always stayed at GC. I am really thinking of staying offsite this summer just cause of the big price difference. Could someone please tell me based on their experience a hotel they would reccomend I am looking for something real close to park. Thanks So much:)

I have stayed twice now at the Sheraton and find it very good. They have a shuttle but I am an AP and so I drive over it is very close drive.

We just returned from a 10 day trip. We stayed at the HoJo's with a premium Disney view 6th floor building 1. Our beds were the most comfortable beds we have had in a hotel. They have pillow top covers, duvets and feather pillows. View was not bad with the exception of the tall trees. We did see some of the park and a great view of pirates cove the water park. Our kids 12,12 and 15 had fun in the water area and we were fine for space inside the room. Our 15 yr old had slept on a cot for 8 of the 10 days and that was her only complaint as it wasn't as comfortable as the beds were. Rooms were clean and we had 2 sinks so one could shower while others were brushing their teeth. Wired internet made it easy to communicate as i brought my laptop with us. They also supply a safe which was a asset. It held my laptop and other papers and travellers cheques. Staff were great and always friendly. As your kids are older there is a little longer walk than some of the other nearby hotels (8 minutes to the gate) but it was no problem. We stayed in 2004 at the Sheraton on Harbour. That was nice but we had to resort to the art.
Another plus is that you are next to Mimi's restaurant which in my mind was the most affordable and friendliest restaurant. It also had the best food around. 5 of us ate breakfast for under 40.00 and dinners under 60.00 and we were always full from the meal. Portions are large and we shared some meals at times.

The Candy Cane Inn is nice and close. The rooms are a tad small but it works out pretty well for a lot of our friends and family.

We have stayed at the Tropicana, the Carousel and the HoJo all considered across the street. Our fav was the Tropicana, it was the closest, and if my opinion the most comfortable. The Carousel was OK...but found the beds very uncomfortable.... The HoJo we were very unimpressed with...we had a room facing the highway and had to tolerate the loud traffic the whole time. We were only there two nights so we didnt bother asking to switch....Having said all that....I would stay at any of the three again if the one I liked better wasnt available. Considering how much time we actually spend in the room...all three are fine.

we stayed at the tropicana and the camelot...both were fine. DH preferred the camelot, which is one hotel down from the tropicana. i think they were equally the same, but when we stayed at the camelot, the room we were in had adjoining door (that remained locked) so that gave us extra space in the room (which is why DH liked it better than the tropicana). both offer free parking and free continental breakfast (nothing fancy, but it'll help you get thru to your mid-morning snack time!). HTH! :)

I've only stayed at the Holiday Inn on Walnut but its nice and a medium sized walk to the parks but first stop/drop off on ART so not too bad and a really nice hotel that was just renovated.

We like the Tropicana, very close. Right in front of the cross walk in to DL there. Clean, comfy, and quiet.

We weren't fans of Hojo. The walk while longer then the Tropicana really wasn't too bad. But we found our stay to be too noisey.

Thanks for all of your suggestions and comments I really apprecite it. I think I might have narrowed it down to either the Tropicana or BW Park Place Inn Thanks again
