We we will be staying off site our night of arrival. Should be getting in around 10:00 pm or so. We will rent a car for the night to go to the hotel. The next morning we will check out and head to a groc store for room food then go to CSR for our stay. We will not be keeping the car.

Figured renting the car (about $45) will be cheaper than paying for taxi or car service to get to the off site hotel and then again to CSR the next am.

Thought about staying at a Value the night before so we could use DME from the airport then transfer then next day to CSR, but then I wouldn't have my groc stop-which is a must for me.

Where are the good stores at in comparison to nice, inexpensive off sit hotels. We will have GPS so hopefully we won't get lost. Thanks!!!

We always stay outside of the park for the first night too. There are some hotels close to DTD. We actually stayed at Royal Plaza for our last trip and it was really nice, and right there at DTD on Disney property.

We have also stayed at The Raddison at Celebration an it was real nice too. There are grocery stores on that same road, but I never go, my DH does all of that while the kids swim so I can't help you there.

I do know that there is a grocery store just outside of the gate at DTD, in a strip mall. It's just behind the McDonalds there. I hope this helps.

Do you remember what you paid for these hotels? Did you book direct for through through a travel site? Thanks!

We are staying at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista which is about 5 minutes from DTD. If you go to travelzoo.com, they were running a special for this place for $32/night (from $90). It has gotten pretty decent reviews (seems okay to me for a one night stay, which we are doing prior to checking in the following day to POR).

As far as stores go...there is a Publix supermarket a little further up the road from DTD. The name of the street that the hotel is on is Palm Parkway. If you leave the resort and get back to the main road, turn right to get to the supermarket rather than left back to DTD. I haven't been there in a while, but my parents go and told me it's just a few minutes down the street from where Comfort Inn (which is on the same street as Olive Garden if you're familiar with the area).

We also stayed the Comfort Inn and the Quality Inn Suites near Old town on Iro Bronson Dr. Kissimee, There is a Walmart and lots of things near there.

we have stayed at Galleria Palms and it was very nice. It is about 1 mile west of world drive on 192. we payed approx 69 a night.

I was wondering the exact same thing. We are from Texas and really don't travel much so our adventure this summer is going to be quite and experience.

We also booked our 1st night at this Comfort Inn through Travelzoo. We're staying in a condo & decided to leave a day earlier. Another night at the condo is $89. For $32-we're trying it.:thumbsup2
