Hey everyone,
I will be staying at Comfort Inn lake Buena Vista and am somewhat getting concerned about driving around WDW. It will be my first time solo as well as my first time driving. We stayed on site before, so never had to really worry about transportation. Anyways, how does it work if you are staying off site and you wish to go hotels and parks? Can you park, say at DD, and take the monorail or buses to the hotels and parks?
I want to go to the CR on my first night to go to Chef Mickey's, but am nervous that I will be unable to find it. I also need to be able to get to the Poly hotel, yet have no idea where to find it!
Help please!
Jo

P.S. - does anybody know of a good map that I can download of the location of the hotels in WDW? I have yet to find one and am getting somewhat frustrated....

Hi ChisJo!

The Comfort Inn LBV looks to have a decent shuttle schedule, so I would take a shuttle to Epcot and hop on the monorail. Both the Polynesian and the Contemporary are on the resort monorail.

Will you have a rental car? You could always drive to the Transportation and Ticket Center and hop on the monorail there.

As far as maps, I know the British site has some decent maps. Try www.wdisneyw.co.uk.

I hope to stay at the Comfort Inn LBV as well. If you could please let us know how the place is, that would be great.

Have a great trip!

here are the theme parks maps from this site

they are on the home website - the parent site of the Dis

the DD buses only go between DD and their hotels and Typhoon Lagoon - sometimes they will become the internal buses at OKW, PO, CBR, CSR, AS. the DD buses no longer go directly to the theme parks - so if you are trying not to pay the parking fee - you might just be making more problems for yourself than solving.

You have to decide which means more to you - saving some money or saving time. At WDW most people elect to save time at they can use at the parks.

ChrisJo - RELAX! Driving around Disney is very easy. The road signs are excellent. It is not hard to find your way around. If you are visiting a Disney hotel for a meal, the guard will probably give you a 3-hour parking pass. This is to discourage folks from parking at a hotel for free and hopping a bus to a park to avoid the daily parking fee.

Ok, last question...where is the docks at the Poly to go on the Wishes Cruise? And where in the Contemporary is Chef Mickeys?
Thanks everyone for calming me down. I hate getting lost in unfamiliar territories and this is also my first trip solo, so am a little nervous...

If you enter the front door of the Poly and go around to the back door, follow the path around to the left to the marina. Can't miss it.

Chef Mickey's is on the main concourse level, 4th floor I believe. Same level as all the other shops and restaurants.
