Off Resort Hotels/Restaurants

Been to Disney many times but primarily stayed on Resort. Visited Universal only once. Looking to stay at off resort hotels and do off resort activities in Orlando this summer. Can anyone recommend great resorts (like DVC, with great pool/kitchenette) and places to eat with a 2 yr old?

Wyndham Bonnet Creek, Marriott's Harbour Lake and both of the Sheraton Vistana Resort and Villages are all great ones that I have stay at or visited.
