We've only been to Narcoosee's, Il Mulino and Cali Grill..
I'll say this - from a scenic standpoint, Cali Grill is pretty special. Even being seated in the back room (it was Christmas night, so they sat us in an area normally used for private parties) there was a cool view. If you're not by a window, I could see it being like any other restaurant - but they do allow you to go outside during the fireworks, etc.
We love Narcoossee's. We plan on returning again next year but we'd like to try Flying Fish as well. We had Il Mulino (signature, but not Disney.) Il Mulino was very good for Disney. I wouldn't put it in my top 5 of Italian food, but at Disney, it seemed like the best. We probably won't return to Il Mulino, rather, we'll try the new spot at the Boardwalk.
I would say that if you're on the DDP, check the prices. For two dining credits, make sure you're getting your money's worth. At Narcoosee's, you could go with the surf and turf, which could be as high as $75. Add in a drink, and you're right around $80. Then, dessert. The desserts typically cost ~$12. So, you're coming in right around $92 before tax. Let's say $100 per person.
At California Grill, you're paying for the scenery. Let's say you go with the highest-priced item - the Bison Tenderloin $50 - which honestly, I'm not sure how many people are ordering. Add in the drink - ~$55. Then, the dessert is $13. $68. So, you're paying two dining credits for a $68 dinner before taxes.
See what I mean? I'd recommend Cali Grill, but I'd recommend paying OOP. It's much more worth it. It's still expensive, but when you compare the two, if you're on the DDP, I'd go to Narcoosee's.
