Odds of a resort or room opening up if all the discounts are already taken?

Have you ever seen this? What are the odds of a room opening up under a discount code, if all the discounted rooms are already accounted for? In Fall 25

The odds? No idea. But resorts & room types absolutely do come & go with any discount. Other people change their plans & Disney changes what’s offered as they reevaluate inventory. I have found discounted rooms as close as a week before a trip. Others have found them even closer. Definitely keep checking.

Note, it also depends exactly what you’re looking for. The chances of a regular room becoming available is certainly higher than a room type that’s very limited, such as the resort view king club level room at CR.

It also depends on when in the fall you are visiting. Fall is a very busy time at WDW, with the Halloween and Christmas parties, the F&W festival, and a lot of holidays on the calendar. That increases the demand for rooms. But there are some weeks that tend to be kind of between the festivals and parties where you might have an easier time getting that discounted room.

Definitely keep checking because inventory is constantly shifting. Check multiple times per day. Persistence has a way of paying off and you may get lucky.

Impossible to know the odds. Does it happen? Yes. Will it for sure happen? Nope. If you want it your only chance is to keep checking. Rooms can open all the way up until check-in. (Just remember if within the 8 day cancellation rule you need to modify your current reservation to what you want which could require a call to Disney.)

I'll also say that it depends on what the resorts occupancy is for any given time. If they have lots of empty rooms they can add more to the discounted pool. If a discounted reservation is cancelled and the hotel is at a high occupancy, it doesn't mean that discounted room goes back in to the discounted pool. It could be they will just let it sit undiscounted for last minute bookers who will pay more.

Personally if I am going, I book what I am prepared to be stuck with and pay for. If I find something discounted along the way, I book and cancel the other. But I always book what I will be happy with in the end.

Yes, I have booked it. I am willing to pay the full cost, but would love to add the discount!!
