We made our first DVC reservation with our own points (after renting before) for Disney World in the first week of December (2nd -8th). We made the reservation right after the 7 month window and all that was open for 6 nights in a 2 bedroom villa was Saratoga Springs, when we really wanted Animal Kingdom Villas. We waitlisted Kidani Village and Jambo House. The DVC person told me that our best odds are 30-35 days out. Do you think we have any chance? We are still really, really hoping it comes through!

Do we have any chance?
Thank you for your opinions!

Anything can happen, that's why you want to own at your must have resort and book at 11 months. AKV is a large resort so that helps, people do cancel prior to the 30 day mark but DVC can turn rooms over to Disney for cash reservations at the 60 day mark.

I think you'd have better odds by wait listing both views at Kidani. See if you can find the tread with counts of each room type.

The first week of December is the single most popular week for DVC. You're asking how likely is it that someone else will need to cancel their reservation. In my experience, DVC owners are great planners and dedicated to their vacations. I'd say odds are slim.

Or you could break up the wailist into two 3 day stays at AKV kidani. If one comes through and the other doesn't, you'd end up with a split stay between SSR and AKV. But shorter stays have a better chance of getting filled.
