Was anything else ever in the Oddesy building at Epcot besides a first aid center?

It always seems strange walking past that building. It seems like something like a restaraunt should be in that building.

Anyone know????:confused3

Yes, it was a restaurant until it closed in 1995. Now it is just used for special events.

Bork is correct, just wanted to add for anyone interested in this sort of thing. It was a fast-food type of restaurant. There were characters there at lunch time performing. My kids used to really enjoy it. I used to really like this salad type of meal I would get for lunch. Every time we walk by it hubby and I always say we wished it were still there. I have heard it is now used for coporate lunches and also for some food and wine and food among the flowers meals.

One of our band parents organized a dinner there last New Years Eve - it was booked through Disney. It was really nice, great food and decorations. The cost was about $65 per person, but to get out of the crowds and relax for a while was worth it.

(of course, we then had our 9pm ressies at Rose and Crown to see the fireworks, so we ate a LOT that night  )

I have wondered the same thing about that building! I am glad to know that it was once a restaurant.

Does anyone know what the restaurant was called?

Fast food ala Cosmic Rays and it had a stage that rose out of the floor with Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Goofy dressed as astronauts. They would come around to all of the tables for greetings. This was WAY BACK when EPCOT first opened and it continued through 1989.

That is where the Food & Wine Fest demonstrations are being held right now.

There were guest authors who spoke there during Flower and Garden show one year.

I think that's where the Grand Gatherings International Dinner is held.

I ate there on 9/27 as part of a Magical Gathering Illuminations Dinner/Dessert Party. It was great. My DH was especially happy as he LOVED the Odyssey in its original incarnation.

The only thing open to the public at the Odyssey Restaurant are the bathrooms. I've used them many a time.
