I'm going to start by saying that my guess is that this had something to do with the Marathon this past weekend but...

Last Friday we were in Epcot around 8:00pm. As we were leaving the Living Seas we started to cross over a little bridge towards Innoventions, we were stopped by a man dressed in black. He had a police badge and told us that we could not cross over the bridge. He didn't look like a cast member and really didn't look much like a police officer except for the badge. We went around a different way and because it was bothering me, I stopped a cast member and asked if they were aware that this man was there. He said yes and that they were checking something on the bridge.

Then I looked around and there were several cast members in the area watching what ever was going on with the bridge.

If it had been a cast member stopping people on the bridge I never would have thought about it again. But, it seemed strange that they needed a plain clothes police officer to stop people from crossing the bridge.

Does anyone know what was going on?

Just curious!

was it near the finish line? if so there was a man who died just after crossong the finish line you may have been near the investigation into his death...

No, This was on Friday night. I don't think that the Marathon started until Saturday (not really sure). So it couldn't have been at the finish of the race.

I hate to hear that about that man. My heart goes out to his family.

We were there... in Innoventions at the time... funny enough, I didn't notice anything.

It was probably a lost backpack or something. They held up all the boats at DTD for over an hour because of one a few months ago. One of the security guards told me it happens all to often and they have to follow procedure, "just in case".

How did the man die? Was it a heart attack? How very sad!
